Day 19

This is day 18 of the challenge.  :P :D  We started on the 16th.

Don't feel bad.  I went back today and looked through every single page of this thread, and realized that I got off count TWICE:facepalm:

Understood.  This is an "ongoing" challenge. It's just that none of us could be beyond day 18.

Actually, since it's a 30-day challenge, if you started on August 16th, your 30th day would be September 14th since August has 31 days.

I had to count on my fingers, and we all need more knives!

OK.  I have to ask this question, because I've never really had a straight answer.  What is "improved" about that Muskrat?

Nice knife, BTW!

I carried the GEC #14 at work, and then changed to this Case Sodbuster that I bought from a member here. :)

I did a little research & in Old Timers case the only difference between the "Improved Muskrat" and the previous model is the blade stamp.

There were other makers used the "Improved Muskrat" mark that changed from a single spring to a two spring. Others who rounded the bolsters to improve pocket carry and marked them "Improved Muskrat".

So it would seem in Old Timers case it was a marketing gimmick.

Good enough for me.  I had heard the one about the springs, and some others had said that it could indicate just about any change.  The odd thing is that I seem to see the word used mostly in association with the muskrat pattern, so it piqued my curiosity.

Thanks for the research!

I put the wrong day too, I'm going to go by how many pictures are in my Flickr album from now on. I've got 17 pictures, so tonight will be Day 18 for me. Counting is hard! :ahhh
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

Day 5. Carrying both the traditional slip joint and the rebar. It's a great combo, and I'm glad I'm trying this pairing.

I just really enjoy the blade shape on the Michigan Jack. It is so useful!
