Day 25
A Sheffield British Army Knife
While in the Navy on a Carrier Strike Group Staff, we were doing an Multinational exercise called BALTOPS.  At the end of the exercise, most of the ships pulled into Kiel.  One of the British Officers, who I had communicated a lot with, and I did a trade.  I gave him a ship Zippo and he gave me this knife.  We sealed the deal over a Snake Bite.

Day 25
Svörd Peasant mini (a gift from Magentus), and a Victorinox 108mm Solo (GAW from glenfiddich1983). Thank you guys  :hatsoff:

Both are super light and great companions for any hike or picknick  :D They couldn't be any more different.

...I didn't dare to put the 108mm Solo into much use yet though

DAY 25

Well today is our 26th wedding Anniversary and I’ve got the day off work. A nice relaxing day and I can’t see me needing much in the way of knives except maybe a bottle opener so this standard MP600 has easily got that covered

Congrats !

Powernoodle Day 25

Today I'm carrying a Workpro 15-in-1 multitool.  Its a pretty decent MT for $17.99 shipped on Amazon Prime.  Comes with nice, heavy duty cordura belt sheath.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PGNJ61P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Nice carry! I like seeing the cheap and cheerful tools having pocket (or belt) duty. I find mine to also be pretty decent. It's super, super heavy and unfortunately the tool locks are not the most effective. When you squeeze the handles tightly the lock bars push against each other and partially unlock the tools. Any kind of wiggling of the tool will at that point unlock and collapse it. But for $18, that's livable, especially since all the tools are well made and sharp and work superbly.

Day 25: Opinel #8 Outdoor. Plastic handle, with an emergency whistle. Viroblock lock, thicker blade with shackle key (works as a OHO). Stainless steel. A more modern take on a classic knife.

Day 25

Ka-bar folder

Usually Ka-bar means a military fixed knife but this is something different. The tang stamp says ´Ka-bar Cleveland, Ohio 2753´ on the mark side and ´HI-STAINLESS JAPAN´ on the pile side. I don´t have any more info on this knife.

It´s one of my oldest knives and it has seen a lot of use and some abuse.

Day 25 (Happy Catfish Day!):

Today's carry is a modified Victorinox Outrider:

The Outrider is one of my favorite Victorinox SAKs. It is big, but I love the toolset and the size of the 111mm tools. This particular Outrider was a surprise gift from our own Douglas. He didn't realize that the Outrider was a favorite of mine, but righty guessed that I'd love this one!

I forget who added the stag scales, but he or she did a brilliant job. The stag scales always remind me of Ernest Hemingway's custom pocket knife, so I think of this Outrider as my 'Hemingway Knife'.  :tu:

Big Hairy Jacobean Fuzz Day 25

My dear Dad's (God rest his sole) Basket Handled Broadsword. He made this over the course of two years when I was about five or six and the whole process was a major source of intrigue and excitement for me.

During that period I effectively became his chief production assistant (speSmurfpillsing in handing up and holding down) and main design critic whenever concept drawings or sketches where being produced (normally with a bic pen) during the early design process and often during fabrication when problems were encountered.

When finally finished, to my mother's disgust, the sword was placed pride of place above the living room telly, my father was immensely proud of his gargantuan achievement and I was immensely proud of him. Here now was undeniable proof, without any shadow of a doubt, that we were indeed bona fide Highlanders probably descended from ancient kings (the more important evidential fact that my grandparents were all fluent Gaelic speakers hadn't yet donned on me at that early age).

Ye Jacobites by name, lend an ear, lend an ear, ye Jacobites by name, lend an ear, ye Jacobites by name, your faults I will proclaim, your doctrines I maun blame, you will hear, you will hear, your doctrines I maun blame, you will hear... etc, etc...
