Ok. So today I was doing another Search & Rescue (Covid) thing blah, blah etc.

Although the PX came with me I deemed it unwise to take it out for photo opportunities, of which there were many along the Thames such as; HMS Belfast, Tower of London, The Shard and the Walkie Talkie building (Google it) to name but a few  :tu:

It was a beautiful sunny day here in "ol' Landaan taan"(you need to read that with a proper "Dick Van Dyke" - "Mary Poppins" accent) but, with various protest groups out and about today (making ar*es of themselves  ::) ) it didn't seem prudent to produce a blade  :ahhh

So, here's a couple of shots of the "pre - op" and "post - op" uses (sounds painful doesn't it  ) whilst safe at home  :D

Stay safe all  :salute:

Good call  :tu:

Never a silly question, ever! We get asked this alot because most people think about Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue et-al and don't often see a need with urban areas  :dunno:

The fact is London is a vast sprawl of very open spaces (think country parks which are quite large, for the UK anyway  ::) ) with smaller towns interspersed between them and people do go missing, frequently.

Essentially, we are part of a National Organisation called "Lowland Rescue"

I've attached a link to this so as not to waffle on (any more than usual anyway  ) and hopefully it will help you fall asleep at a time of your choosing

https://www.londonsar.com/   :tu:

Will read this later, thanks for the link  :salute:

Day 13

Lockdown got to me and I got bored - I stopped by the local convenience store and some snacks that 10 year old me would buy, and then open with my SAK.

Of course, the Pioneer X accompanied me for the trip

So far, the scissors really are pulling their added weight.  In comparison to the Solider that I was carrying last month, this month, the SAK does get out of the pocket more frequently.

Good to see that you are liking the PX, and are using it frequently  :like:

Nice

What did you bring for the sandwiches?

I have a fond memory of a hike that I went on.  A friend and I bought bread, cheese, and apples.... all by the side of the road at different places on a trip.  The bread and cheese were homemade (I guess).  At the top of the hike, we stopped and made cheese and apple sandwiches.     Quite unplanned, and quite delicious.

Sounds delicious!

We had PB, eggs, salami, turkey breast, pistachios, carrots and bananas. Not all on one sandwich of course  :D

I like how quickly this became "your" treehouse
  The PX got some good use today, after lunch I did some more tree-trimming.  I did have to use the jigsaw a couple of times, I ran into a couple of branch stumps (is there a name for those?) that were too thick to cut through.  Don't worry tree lovers, I didn't cut down any functioning branches.  They were all down low where they don't get any sunlight so they didn't have any needles on them.  Afterwards I used it to open a cold one.  I would've used it to open the pizza I made but it still had sap on it and I didn't think Mrs. Tet would approve.

A bonus pic, of the finished lower level, the SAK is pretty small. For some reason I said I’d make an upper level, but I need to take a break for awhile!

Nice uses Tet. One thing I dislike about, and sure I'm not the only one, with messing around in Pine trees, the sap.

Thanks mate! I'm happy with it, especially since I don't know what I'm doing!  Although I'm wishing now I hadn't cheaped out and got the pressure treated 2x4's and 2x6's to match the brown.

If I may ask a silly question... What does urban search and rescue do over yonder that the usual ambulance service doesn't do?

I was going to ask the same, I'm glad you did!

That's sounds like some great work you're doing Surge.  I liked the pre- and post-op photos!

My coworker used to live in Dillon. He moved back to CO recently, now in Vail. I need to get myself that way. Probably should sell the house and my belongings beforehand

By the by, these are incredible photos.  You should take SAK photos with more background more often.  Just do me a solid... If you're ever taking them in your back yard, please be careful to avoid having your feet in the background.   :dwts:
