The exploding sweet bag, always fun! At least you weren’t in a car at the time, otherwise you’d be finding sweets for months afterwards! A badge has yet to be created for this challenge, but don’t panic, I’m sure this is in hand!
DAY 1I wanted some candies / sweets this morning and used my FX scissors to open up the little bag.Which was of great help as half of the time I end up with a ripped bag and half candies flying out and everywhere Haribo, c'est beau la vie... (Haribo, life is beautiful...) - I thought I had seen a Farmer X 30 day badge in the badge list but I couldn't find it this morning, am I crazy or need I a pair of glasses?
Day 1Found two more car seat hooks.(Image removed from quote.)
Great start, guys!Day 1Used the scissors on my FX to open up a sack of sunflower hearts for the bird feeders- the thread even worked first time this morning!
So is there a planned use or just saving for potential use.
May I still sneak into this challenge?Ive found a Farmer X.I have no clue where it came from or whom ut belongs to. I am not guilty. Really. I promise. Day1.Package duty. Corona lockdown and most shops are closed. So if you need something, the postman delivers it.Cardboard mania
DAY 1Just in case it all goes wrong later and I "forget" to postToday was a work day and therefore, no carry I got home mid-afternoon and took a shot of the FX basking in the early spring sun (with some yellow stuff )Great shots all Here we go again... Update: Cider opening duties as well
Day 1My exercise ball needed some air. Used the screwdriver to pull out the plug. (Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Good to go Painting the last room that I had not renovated yet. Awl removed staples, Blade cleaned up gaps in the baseboards. (Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Also needed to remove a few wall anchors. Tried with the awl and the can opener, but wasn't able to remove them. The MP400 helped out:(Image removed from quote.)
Day 1Did nothing special with my FX, boring start day.But it looks so nice...
I was browsing eBay back when I signed up for the challenge, and I stumbled on some blue Farmer Xs for a price too good to be true (they cost the same as I paid for my blue Pioneer X!) So I dug into the shop's feedback, and found out they had a history of procuring and selling Victorinox tools with loose pivots. I decided to gamble — either I'd get a nice, brand-new Fx to beat up for the challenge, or I'd get a floppy Fx and a ridiculous Day 1 for the Farmer X Challenge.So...here we are.Day 1Here's the blue Fx that I'm using for my challenge tool:(Image removed from quote.)A Farmer X in blue!As you can't see in the picture, both end pivots are loose, so every tool jiggles. The last time I had to fix a knife before I could use it was back in 2013, when I did the 30 Day Coghlan's Army Knife Challenge. I guess history really does repeat itself.I don't own any peening tools (or any metal work tools to speak of), but I have many friends and family members who would let me borrow theirs. In keeping with tradition, however, I decided to use the absolute wrong tools for the job!(Image removed from quote.)Sledgehammer + electrical tape = ...good enough? So, with electrical tape protecting the paint, and with the knife taped securely to my 5k sledge, I did what I do best:(Image removed from quote.)Every problem is a nail! Bam! Bam! Bam!I had resigned myself to this leaving scuffs and marks somewhere, but to my incredible surprise...(Image removed from quote.) (Image removed from quote.)It's hard to see, but the only sign I took a hammer to the pivots is the slightly flattened rivet heads....it's fine. There is no cosmetic damage at all. My Fx will probably take more damage sitting alone in my pocket than it did during this horrible nightmare experiment.Because this one wasn't ready yet, I used my regular carry Fx at work instead. It was a regular day of pulling staples, turning screws, and snipping page corners.End: Day 1
Good start But what about the pivots? Did your treatment fix them?
Sure did. Solid as a rock!
Day 1 Addendum:The Fx just opened this package, which seems appropriate:(Image removed from quote.) (Image removed from quote.)16 lbs. (7.26 kg). I tried to apologize to the woman in the post office, but she just laughed.Hammers be all up in this place!
DAY 2This morning I wanted to replace batteries. I struggled during 3 minutes to remove them with my nails.... Then I remembered I had my PX resting next to me. I used the can-opener SD / tip to remove them. - In my defense I was still half asleep -
