In terms of comfort, I too would agree with your assessment--Rebar chassis does have all the tools retracted inside the body, so it's definitely one of the most comfortable to hold within the realm of LMs.  However, since all the cutting tools opened from the inside, they are less versatile than those that opened from the outside(at least in certain application, YMMV).  I think that's part of the reason why I still favor Spirit as my all time favorite, and have high hopes for the next iteration of the Spirit MXBS.  LM P4 has great potential, but I find some of those tools are lacking and not so well thought out.

I love the outside accessibility of all the tools on the Spirit.  That is what also makes the Spirit my favorite PBMT.  The MXBS oho is a little unique but I do think it works.  Although, considering this started with a saw discussion, it is important to not the MXBS replaced the saw with a serrated rescue knife like on the SAK Rescue and SwissTool RS.

Wave can opener used to scrape grass clippings from under the mower - good shape for getting into tight spots, too much sweat and grass to take a pic so here’s a cactus instead

Day 28 (Last Day)

Weee....this challenge has gone pass like a wind!

GEC 74 Mustang starts my day with a cup of coffee

Sometime in the afternoon, I used my LM P4 for opening a coconut.  I have used many tools to open coconut in the past, slip joint, SAK, MT, big knife, small knife, but I was slightly surprised it wasn't as 'easy' as I thought with the Free P4.  I haven't got the chance to really review the tool since I got it a while ago, and after spending a honeymoon with the P4, I felt my slightly negative initial impression still prevailed.

My biggest qualm about P4 is the ill though out tool set and execution--I do think this magnetic tool has great potential to usher LM into a new era, even a 'game changer' per se.  But why do they put in 1 inch+ ruler, file and a funky awl in the first place?  The 2d philips on the other side is alright, but the flat head with a semi-sharpen side?  These tools makes me feel like someone is trying to find some Christmas sock stuffer in last minute, and just grab whatever they have at hand and hurl it into the chassis.  Funny thing is they do get the file right, coarse and fine at each side.

Another qualm I have with P4 is the rescue/serrated blade.  I actually don't mind them much, but they totally could have put in a usable file/saw in that space, instead of a chisel-ground serrated blade.  The clip is attached onto the chassis with two flat head screw, but if taken off, it left two funny looking holes on the surface like picture above.  What happened to the Wave/Charge clip attachment?  That was ingenious and beautifully done.  Where have the engineering gone to?

Having said all that, LM P4 does have its merit.  The magnetic opening and closing is a huge deal, it's easy to get it done with one hand.  The hollow ground of the main blade is definitely most welcomed, making it a really good slicer.  Being able to access all the tools from the outside is good too, LM market all the tools could be 'fanned' out and selected individually--but in reality, it's still very much a two handed operation.  Not quite buttery smooth like SAK/Swisstool/Spirit, but it's still improvement from previous iterations where some tools are difficult to fish out until they are well broken in.

Before I finish my wrap, I definitely would like to use the chance to thank my card sharp partner Nix.  Without his help, the challenge would never go as smooth and fun to watch and partake.  Also, thank you for everyone participating in the poker game play and the challenge, you guys are what make this forum/challenge special!

Yes.  It is from a company on ebay that had some limited green and blue Farmer X made with their logo on the blade.
