About small portions of shelf stable cheese...

It's called "Polenguinho".
This small square of cheese can be found here easily. (Good until september of 2021 without refrigeration, at room temperature).
I have memories of eat this since childhood (Not a long time being a Clone).

And I must say, this small cheese is good!

That looks good!   :like:

Is the popcorn pre-popped?

If you have to pop it, how will you accomplish that within the challenge parameters?   :o

It is pre-popped.

But I could probably do the unpopped within challenge parameters.  I might just have to give it a try.  That does make me realize that my MRE does currently have a small amount of cooking oil in it already, but I forgot to list it under condiments.

I think I could meet the guidelines of cooked over a camp stove and in a relatively short time (less than 30 minutes).  So if I was going to use aluminum foil or a beer/soda can would those need to be included?

Wow!  Great array of foods.

A side note: the Israeli military field ration, 'Manat Krav', is basically a box of canned foods.

I don't tend to count my macros, but i do track my food using an app. I usually aim for about 2000 cal a day, varies if i am working or doing an activity; I aim for a balanced diet overall though.
I generally drink black coffee, tea with milk, green lemon tea and water, plus the odd alcoholic beverage. For the challenge I'll forgo the tea with milk as i can't be arsed using UHT milk, and the alcoholic drink, also can't be arsed as i prefer it cold. I don't add salt or sugar to my food.

Everything here can be cooked using hot water, so I will use my brewkit for boiling and my travel aeropress for my coffee.

Total is 2416, subject to change  :D, everything packed into about 1/2 of a 13l drybag.

edit - forgot to say, tea coffee not included yet

That looks great.  Those two Flapjacks in the upper left have me curious.  I’ve never heard of them, but they sound tasty.  By the sounds, they’re nothing like US flapjacks.

Flahavans are an irish company -
https://www.flahavans.ie/product/flahavans-irish-oaty-flapjacks-choc-chip/
depending on where in the states you live, you might be able to snag some in an irish shop;

the other one i did find in a gas station (not what we call em here  :D) - i think the manufacturer is british.
https://ie.graze.com/products/peanut-butter-and-chocolate-protein-bites

both are quite palatable - what does a flapjack consist of where you are ?

edit -

that is *very* expensive

In the states, if you order 'flapjacks' you'll get a plate like this:

Your version of a Flapjack would appear to be a chewy granola bar or 'cookie'.  Which is nice.....

yeah, flapjacks here are more akin to a granola bar i guess
I think, and i would defer to Mags vast experience, that what you call cookies we call biscuits, unless they're chocolate chip. chocolate chip cookies are nice. they're basically biscuits with chocolate chips in them.

there's a whole wikipedia page dedicated to biscuits - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biscuit

Yup!  Here flapjacks are thick, fluffy pancakes made to keep lumberjacks felling trees and miners digging mines.

As Nix pointed out, in the United States, flapjacks is another name for pancakes.

The British flapjack would be more considered a granola bar.

I have only heard of flapjacks as being a type of pancake.

Nice pikelets!
By the way, since no one asked, pikelets are small pancakes (about 3 inches in diameter) popular in Australia and NZ. When people are asked to "bring a plate" you hope someone has brought pikelets with cream and berry jam.

We call those little pancakes, "Silver Dollar Pancakes".

Not because they cost a silver dollar, but because they are smallish. Not silver dollar small....but smaller than a regular pancake or flapjack. A dissatisfied diner might refer to such a small pancake, speech tinged with sarcastic incredulity, as being "no bigger than a silver dollar."

But they are standard menu items in some restaurants, cafes, and doll houses.

Borg, you know how gladiators' sweats were collected by a strigil, and were highly sought after commodity in ancient Rome?

Just to confuse matters further, those flapjacks are not pancakes, the pancakes are not flapjacks, flapjacks are flapjacks and the pancakes are drop scones (round these parts anyway)

I was wondering if you were thinking about popping over your camp stove.   :D

Pre-popped seems like the easier option.....but.....who likes easy?

"Corn, popping, with contraption."

First and second run of popcorn making completed.

First run game out well enough, but was not the way to go.  I received some Firedragon gel that I decided to use.  The gel burns too hot so the mug had to be held up.  I also needed more cooking oil.  But still had a nice cup of popcorn in about 10 minutes.

Second run was better.  This time over twig fire.  I started with brewing some Crio Bru (ground cocoa brewed like coffee).  Then used the remaining fire and coals to pop the popcorn.  Hot brewed cocoa and freshly popped popcorn made over a camp stove in under 20 minutes.

The wife decided that she wanted to taste test the popcorn.  It must have passed, because she ate half of it.

I still have a few more trials I want to do with changing some things up.  But I think I will still leave the already popped corn in the MRE.
