Powernoodle Day 25

Opinel No. 8 Outdoor.  This one has a whistle in case I am attacked by the Swedish Bikini Team.  Blowing the whistle summons more attackers.

:like:  sounding a whistle will carry farther and longer than any shouting that you can do on your own.  After hearing a few survival experts agreeing on this, I'm pretty convinced.

And here again, as I say - Victorinox, Leatherman, Kershaw, CRKT, Opinel... and others can't ALL be wrong... Combo edge blades have their uses in camping, hiking and backpacking.

My first EDC knife, other than a SAK. Very simple and nice.

DAY 25  Speaking of poor uses, I carried the Signal while cutting the grass.  I felt the whistle might be useful to summon the Swedish Bikini Team if I passed out from the heat.  :tu:

Legit survival usage might be as simple as needing ketchup for the burger and fries.  :salute:

Hope springs eternal  ;)

Perhaps Excuses for Uses could be a future challenge

i.e. most inane use for ANY MT/Knife etc in ANY circumstances

I surprise myself with how quickly I reach for this little knife for little things - compared to a SAK.  The one handed opening has been a real  :tu:

Based on my poor uses, I think your poor uses would be delightfully more frequent if you were to get a new Spyderco UKPK,

Loooong day today.  I was helping a friend by doing data entry for the last 10 hours.  I just stopped for the night because I have to get ready for all the smurf I have to do tomorrow.

There it is!  The serrations on the outer portion of the blade is a game-changer. The chisel grind is a bit of a one trick pony though.  Overall, one of the best pocket knives ever made, I think

Yeah, the GAK has a lot going for it.  You get more utility per mm or gram with something like an Explorer Plus.  But most of us could make it through the day just fine with a GAK and its locking blade, which is more of a hard use performer than the average SAK.

I just ordered a Spyderco Resilience Lightweight in S35VN combo edge with blue scales.  As it may not arrive before the end of The Challenge, we may have to extend it a few days.  I know that each of you is willing to make that sacrifice.

Not really.

Lets not tell the moderators, but its not much of a Challenge when you already enjoy carrying a combo blade.  Shhhh.

So a busy day at work but no legally allowable pics' (evidential stuff)

However, today was a Six Nations day (Rugby) so here's the Wingman watching France vs Scotland  :tu:

I couldn't bring myself to do the same with England vs Wales, it was a bit of a clencher in the second half  :ahhh
Tomorrow Mrs Surge vs Ireland (in Dublin)  :pok: :twak:

Hanging out on the bag I take to work.

There's a Gerber MP600 in there that hasn't seen action in quite some time.

I really like the looks of that Opi.  I keep meaning to purchase an Opinel and then always get distracted by something else shiny.
