Nice assortment!

My stock of used Classic SDs is running pretty low. I think it's time I made another big order of them.

Day 20: bonus.

These Bucks are going to look a whole heckuva lot different once they're sorted out. They're making the pilgrimage back to Post Falls (although both the Hunter and Ranger were made in California) starting tomorrow.

The 110 was my first--it's a V5 from around '77 or so. My great uncle abused the heck out of it when it was his, putting deep marks into the handles and a bench grinder really messed up the blade. The back handle split on me last year for no reason.  While really necessary, I don't want the main blade replaced, but asked Buck do to a SPA treatment and replace the split back handle. Buck knew how to make sheaths for them. When I want something nicer than the nylon sheath I don when working around the farm, I use the sheath that went with this 110 regardless of version.  Since I have 3 other 110s (soon to be a fourth as soon as I get a base model 110LT), I'm not really missing this one. It was officially retired as soon as a new 110 was bought in 2017, but still sees regular use.

The 112 I bought as a project. I figured that, yeah, the main blade was nearly worn out, but a quick sharpening job should get it right. WRONG. It was blunt and the tip had a bad chip. There is so little meat left, that it would be a "toothpick" when the chip was dressed out. So, main blade is getting replaced. As a bonus, I'm getting the 112 Ranger 50th Anniversary stamped 2022 blade.  It was so messed up, I had to buy the then-new 112LT when we did the Ranger challenge a year or two ago.

The 301 just needs a bit of adjustment. I bought it used last year, and I notice it had an annoying amount of play in the large blade, and I blunted it with my awful sharpening skills. I have a pile of Large Stockmans, and the 3-spring 301 never really meshed with me. I'm looking for a Camillus version. I think they made a better 301 and 303 (and the slew of other 300 series) than Buck did in-house.

DAY 21

It'll probably be used to prep lunch, but before I forget, here's a pic of the 110 guarding the breakfast.

Don't feel too bad. My sharpening skills are somewhere between lacking and nonexistent (probably closer to the latter).

Hope you have better luck with giving cats medicine than I do!

No issues whatsoever when you're handing out meat flavored soft chews. :D  She likes them and thinks they are treats.

Day 21
"An apple a day will keep the doctor away."  This saying originally referred to preventing scurvy and rickets and other diseases due to vitamin deficiencies.  In my own opinion, however, an apple a day will keep nearly everyone away if you throw it hard enough.

The pocket clip on the Hunter Sport is more refined than the one on the Slim Pro, but there remains room for improvement.

Day 21: started late assembling a combination bed frame/box spring as I had to move a bunch of stuff around, and it was like 10:30 when I got things set up fully.  One snafu was that I disassembled the old bed frame, and I wasn't convinced as to the stability of the new one, so I thought about setting the unit without the legs in the old twin bed. It was maybe 1/4" too long, as reinforcement, where the side rails slotted into place, prevented the box spring from fitting. So, I had to put the legs back on, and then re-disassemble the old bed--then put my old mattress back on.

I still have to unroll the new bed in the box mattress and wait two days for it to set up. Plus side is that a LOT of the "crushed mattress" feeling I had was due to the cheap (not to mention repaired after three slats broke inside) wooden box spring, and much of that has rectified itself with a new steel frame.

I had such a mess, I couldn't to the PC, and spent another hour mopping up the mess. Went to bed straight away, but was able to get the photo taken before I did.

Today's work entails unpacking the bed in the box mattress and figuring out a place where I can keep it to expand, while still having the old mattress laid out on the new bed .

I got a parcel from Victorinox today and got the 110 ready to open it only to realise it had a pull tab and didn’t need a knife
