I’ll never forget that my uncle bought me a cheap hollow handle survival knife.  I loved it, but my Mom was a little upset at him.

   ...cool, would have liked one too  :D

Day Nineteen

It's almost time to start think about carving pumpkins. Anyone gonna use their Bucks for pumpkin carving? 🎃

Used the Buck Ranger 112 to open my mail today and cut a string on my shirt.

Day 19: while doing some long overdue drawer-cleaning, I stumbled upon the 2019 112LT I bought for the Ranger Challenge I. This is now every 112 I own except for a used-up '74-80 I forgot to send to Buck.

I started a new rule this month--allow myself only 2-3 knives or lots  to be purchased a month, preferably locally--and I already met that quota with the Ontario RAT II and the 112LT I bought at the start of the challenge (though I am allowing for a third to be bought if I can swing by a secondhand store/flea market). I think the first one for October is gonna be a standard 112. We have a new indoor flea market with a lot of everything, and I'm hoping to find a V1 or V2 Bucklite 110 and 112.

Hate it when you can’t find the end on a roll of tape, used 112 to cut a new one

DAY 20  I went for a walk this morning and got an outdoor shot of the Ranger.   It turned out far better than my attempted pic of a pilliated woodpecker.  It's a nice picture of a slash pine, but the woodpecker was invisible in the shaded branches.

That's a seemingly unending process here...

Looks good! :tu:

Day 20

At the two-thirds mark, I.unboxed a produce delivery. I'm sure y'awl could come up with a number of creative and/or funny captions for this photo.

Good idea, I always did it with my SAK and it'd be a good change to try to do one with 112 this year.

Hmmm...that's an interesting thought, canon riding never did appeal to me and I bet it made a fun photo op.

Day 20:

A chilly day today. Mrs Nix was quick to agree to a pot of chili.  :ahhh

Ranger got pressed into service mincing, dicing, and "chopping". For the big chunk of beef, I used successive cuts to make 'slabs' and then strips, which got turned into a large "dice".

Ranger was brilliant at trimming, peeling, and "chopping" the onions:

Day 20:

FedEx tracking showed one small item from the Sams Club order was supposed to show up. Ended up being the whole order (mostly heavy canned goods), a half dozen boxes worth. Thus, I didn't plan, and instead of loading it into the UTV from the FedEx truck and backing that up to the house, I ended up carrying all of it in.

Thus, I had to unpack all of it.
