BLJ out for a little yard work today.  Took some tomatoes down and used the BLJ to cut away some of my support strings. Good cutter.  :tu:

Day 10:

Attack Rescue Survive/Alex Shunrrah Altoids Tin Knife. The company, I later learned, lied about the country of origin (China, not the US), and had a bad rep for it. However, it's a decent little knife, quite sturdy for its small size.  The design flaw is that one, it won't fit in an Altoids tin with the sheath on (which, if I recall correctly, was aftermarket when Blue Ridge Knives bought up the remaining stock and distributed to dealers), and it came with a paracord wrap handle that kept it from locking in the sheath. I've used this little sucker a lot. Today, I used it to open up some Sam's Club boxes from an order delivered today.

I used a Clauss Floral knife to peel an apple. We have them everywhere. My grandmother and I like them as  kitchen knives,  and they work great as steak and paring knives (albeit, my favorite steak knife is still the Victorinox serrated paring knife). I have them in toolboxes and tackleboxes. A box of a dozen is usually under $20--which is a steal given they are German-made. They hold a decent edge, and are pretty easy to resharpen due to being so thin.

Great photos and uses, y'awl! :tu: There could be a box of those Clauss floral knives in my future...they look handy, and are certainly priced very well.

Finally!  :D :tu:

Two razor style folders to fill the rasolino corner of my folder stash.
Artisan Cutlery Orthodox razor in satin and United Cutlery Black Ronin Razor.

The Orthodox is what I was looking for. The BR Razor was bit of a spur of the moment due to the nice looking blade despite the end ring which should've warned me. As it turns out it really is more of a 'tactical cleaver' than rasolino so  I am not certain of its usefullnes to me. Maybe I'll just drop it into the pocket of outdoor working trousers at the proper moment and see how that goes.

In any case both seem well made for the price so can't really complain. A new knife is always a new knife eh?

Lähetetty minun SM-T515 laitteesta Tapatalkilla

As a knife collector/enthusiast. I could kind of see the appeal in getting the 'tactical cleaver' for the fun of it.  I think with Medford coming onto the scene, it did broaden the spectrum and now even carrying a 1lb folding knife as an EDC is a casual thing.

Nice grab.

And....Bucks were made to be used....  :pok:
True.  I think I like most their 'traditional' fixed blade offering, maybe even more than their 'traditional' folding knives.  Most are not too heavily weighted and the balance is near perfect for me(balance point lay somewhere between index and middle finger on the handle).

Really like the Victorinox pairing knife here, so much so that I think this is probably one genre of knife I never have to worry about rusting or even sharpening.  For that reason alone, I went ahead and get their folding pairing knife when it was released.  It will probably the most utilitarian knife I can bring to travel, no matter where I go in the world.

All depends on the handle material. I have two 105's. The one with a brass pommel is handle heavy, the one with an aluminum pommel is a bit blade heavy (maybe neutral). But I always find the Buck fixed blades to be nice knives to use.  :tu:

Day 11 -

A SCENTCYtive job was given to the El Morro😢

I retired the wax from the 1/2 Bath Scentsy Lamp, had no idea the scent it was to have been, but maybe 2 yrs old so does it matter.

The blade dislodged the old,

and, then cut two new bricks from the package, Carmel Pear iirc!

Day 10
I'm late because I couldn't turn on my computer for the last 24 hours because it was making some kind of terrible grinding noise and I thought it was going to blow up or something.  Anyway, this is a Western model 677 that my father bought before deploying to Arctic Survival School in 1957.  The original sheath was ruined when it spent a week underwater in my bedroom after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, but the blade is still shaving sharp.

Day 11
A tale or 2 Morakniv ProS. The good looking one is mine, the gnarly chewed up one belongs to my nephew. I bought them at the same time but his has seen construction/matinence abuse where as mine is usualy more of a shop knife sitting on my workbench

I has to file the edge back then sharpen from scratch to get rid of the chips and rolls, the pics don't do justice to how chewed this blade was. Yes that is blood, because what is a sharpening session if you don't get bit....just kidding. But I do wish I had my big stones here instead of the pocket kit.
