Might be presumptuous, but it looks like a no use day for me and the BLJ.
The BLJ did ride in my back pocket as Mrs Nix and I took Adventure Girl to visit the state capitol. Adventure Girl has been using a long line and where there are potential tangle, a quick knife is a must.  :tu:

Day 13

Great uses so far people.  Please try to remember to state what the knife is that you're using (Brand name and model name or number) in case anyone is interested and wants to look it up.

I've switched again.  This time to the Morakniv Classic No.1.  Every maker has tried all kinds of gimmicks and wonder steels to make the perfect EDC fixed blade knife and it seems to me that they're all still competing with the Mora Classic.  It's a simple knife that has everything you need and nothing extra.  I wish I had purchased the shorter version, but that is just my personal preference.  I can't find anything at all wrong with this knife.  Men, women and children carry these everyday in the Scandinavian countries, and have since The Kraken was a guppie.  I think they've pretty much perfected EDC.  Just opening letters today.

SOS’s Halloween theme SAK reminded me of a cute item my young neighbor girl shared with me as she walked by the house last night,

Day 13. Last year, my folks replaced an older toilet paper dispenser that kept falling out of the wall due to two tiny set screws that kept coming loose. We replaced it with a solid steel unit that screwed directly into the wall, but it had one major design flaw--a razor-sharp "phone holder". Yesterday, I shredded my elbow for the last time. I  found a piece of very tough foam packaging material in my hardware box, and cut it to slip over the corners.  Started with the Western Crosstrail, then had to switch to the Dexter Net Knife to saw through the heavy dense foam.

Almost?

The 119 really is a "special" knife. Well proportioned. Large but not cumbersome or heavy. The blade is probably 1/4 to 3/4" too long, but it would be OK being a 1/4" longer.  :dunno:

I have a 120, and that is definitely a large knife. Too large for my needs. In comparison, the 119 hits a sweet spot.

The 119 is an iconic American knife and I think everyone needs one.  ;)

isn't it the " Scream" knife?  :D

Day13
Just got home a bit ago and decided to do a pocket dump.
Now this is my main EDC pictured; but there are a bunch of 'smalls' like zipties, tape, sewing, rx, fresnel lens, etc  that I'm just not bothering to dig out of their stash spots. Between the 2 pocket pouches and the cell holster on my belt I have a lot of places to squirrel suff away without it bieng in the way.
Obviously the Ozark is the add on for this challenge, as I carry 2 SAKs a Rebar, and Klien scissors so fixed blades are usualy a backpack/toolbag item.
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Nice carry Noa.  Seems to cover all contingencies.  I have been known to carry Klein electrician scissors with tools that don't have on board scissors too.  It's not a proper EDC without scissors.

isn't it the " Scream" knife?  :D

I believe the 120 is the "Scream" knife.  The 120 is about the size of a Ka-Bar, if memory serves, so the size gets hyped a bit.

I recall reading a story from a writer for an outdoors magazine. The writer was an avid outdoorsman and his favorite "field knife" was a Ka-Bar, I think for sentimental reasons, but he used it for all his outdoor needs from hunting to fishing to camping. (As many former GI's did.) I suspect this illustrates the point that the tool matters less than the person using it. Once you learn to use a good tool, the tool's abilities expand.

So while I've said the 120 is too big for me, it probably says more about me than the knife. But I still think the 119 Special is....special.  :D

Day 14

Been a pretty long day today, didn't have much used for the Woodsman.  However, did manage to give it a little TLC to its sheath during break time.

Day 14 -

A quiet day here today and no blade use required as of this posting.

I did inspect the home yard as colder temps are expected.   Found ONE rose bush fighting back with a fresh set of blooms.

Day 14
The rain finally stopped so had to go out a enjoy a beer by a campfire that the ATK helped make by cutting so fatwood shavings.

I also realized a few of my knives needed sharpening.

Got thinking I might switch it up to the Enyo for the second half of the month.  The Enyo is similar in size to the ATK, but a very different knife.

I would guess so. The Enyo has very different blade geometry.   :tu:

Today is a harpoon fixie that has a horrendous scratch pattern from its kydex sheath...
Is Kydex notorious for scratching blades? If so, I'll need a contingency plan if I purchase a knife with a Kydex sheath.

The 119 is an iconic American knife and I think everyone needs one.  ;)
I'll add the 119s to my wish lists, then. :D

That's likely not something I'd carry, but it's way cool! :tu:

Great photos and variety, as awlways! :like:
