"Hold my beer, I've got it" only to find; you didn't "got it"

There are certain things that Brits understand, and others might not.  I don't have a clue what you are talking about.  Something about getting someone to hold a beer while you pay for something?  Start a brawl?  Not a criticism, just an observation.  Best wishes.  G

Essentially it means;
That was good but I can do better "hold my beer"  :drink: (usually ends badly )

Day 23

Now that Micah saved the day  :drink: :salute: :tu: here's yesteday's knife.

Somehow, around the time we moved, my nightstand SAK became my wife's nightstand SAK. This Yeoman replaced a Compact that I traded away. I like having the plus scales in case I need to jot something down, and the mag/phillips has been handy on occasion on a battery or some fine print. It's an aftermarket, so that saved it from being $$$$ as Yeomans usually are in good condition.

I understood the explanation.  I think.  Something like trying to 'show off'.  Now I will have to figure out what to post.  Oh well, I have a couple of days.  Something will come to me.
I wanted to post a photo of the giveaway knife that I won, but it hasn't come in the mail yet.  Maybe I can get in a photo of it in a couple of days.  The dice roll game is getting down toward the end.  Should be another winner in a couple of days.  I have forgotten what the prize is.
I like it that friend SurgeUK specified to CARRY whatever item you post about.  Not just a photo.  I wish I had said that for my version of the Follow the Leader post.  Of course, there is no way to enforce it.  Best wishes.  G

Day 23

Went to town for a hair and beard cut after a week of nights, so switched to a non-locking tool.

Remembered to take a photo before crashing in to bed after 25 hours awake, then couldn’t post due to the technical issues, so here we go…

Day 24

Legal carry again for a train journey to spend the afternoon in a darkroom.

I used my PST II blade to open a new box of Ilford Multigrade paper.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The photo looks weird because it was taken under the red safelight. I had the place to myself, and all the paper was safely covered, so no risk in using the phone.

Today seemed to be kind of a Gerber day.
Seems as if I've always carried the keyring tool in the sheath with my old Gerber multitool.   I don't know how to date it but I've had it nearly as long as my OG Super Tool.

It's basically just something you'd be ashamed to pull out in the bar having said "I can sort that for you" only to fail miserably and have to leave in shame and/or be ridiculed with a chorus of "awl the gear, no idea"  :pok:

Day 24

Testing the new adapter that works with the phillips driver to accommodate 1/4 inch bits. Magnet holds secure enough to the tool and very strong bit retention. I think it was a good buy and increases the functionality of the P4.

Y'awl are still doing great, but I'm a day behind and pressed for time!

Day 23

Just my headlamp. It's a River Store Special that runs off a hard-wired rechargeable. Decent, but I'd like one that runs on alkaline cells.

Day 24

Even though I normally use multitools and knives with locking blades, I have an affinity towards slipjoint pocket knives.  They remind me a lot of my childhood and the knives I used back then.  My favorite handle material is wood or natural bone / antler, but I have recently fallen in love with OD Green micarta.  I can't explain why, but the look just speaks to me.  Here are my favorites from my OD green micarta slipjoint collection.  (One actually has a locking blade, but I still keep it with my slipjoints).

I didn't leave the homestead (due to illness/age) so no carry issues.

Day 24

This "back shield" Climber is our kitchen SAK (apparently I'm doing "place" SAKs this week). It's opened a lot of bottles and cans over the years. Here it is opening a bottle of red from a local winery. Remember, just keep twisting, don't pull. The cap will "screw" itself out. Also don't try to lever, you're ding your knife up for no good reason.

Since MTO was down last night here is  Day 23 & 24

D23
Rebar changeing HVAC airfilters, these grates had to be child proofed and the easiest was a long machine screw w/washer run into the frame.

D24
Sombody broke a glass, well an 8oz ball jar.... so I spent 20min with the flashlight looking for sparkles of broken glass as I cleaned up
