I have recently fallen in love with OD Green micarta.

big job interview so presentation mattered
Hope you get a job offer soon!

Today, I upgraded the SSD of my FZ-M1 rugged tablet:
That Wiha driver looks like a nice upgrade over the cheap crappy ones I used in my first U.S. Navy technical school. The government buying cheap crap...imagine that! :D

Today was the turn of a little carried 111mm.
Between that beauty and the one MTSAK showed earlier, I am convinced that I need a plain-edge OHO 111mm!

2 Camo Charges.

I’m in a “prying” situation.

Even more great stuff from awl! :2tu:

Day 24

Oh, smurf...I think I'm gonna fall down this rabbit hole again.

The Gerber Dime is a tool I bought because I had an immediate need for some pliers. It served its purpose, and seems to have held up well given how badly I treated it. But if I had it to do over again, I'd have bought a dedicated pliers or a Squirt.

Day 23

Cold Steel. My Recon in 3V and an Arkansas toothpick. I actually use the toothpick pretty regular. I used it re-insulating a space in the house.  ::)  Gotta keep that carbon steel oiled up after using.

Both solid choices.  :tu:

ALERT  There have been reports of a forest fire near Multiville.  There is already a mandatory evacuation order for residents of Tooltown.  Residents are urged to gather up some necessaries and prepare to leave for safety.  Stay tuned for updates from our reporter on the scene, comis.  Best wishes.  G

Hello to Awl on day 25 .
well today is the day of the great flood in Multiville and we need to grab some gear. Apart from grabbing  the family cat (who does want to partake in posing
for the camera) and some passports I would grab one of the shelves from my collection cabinet as we are in Multiville after all.
The shelf would be Wave/Charge collection and to be honest I think a few more would make it into the bag as well.

Day 25: Woke up to the smell of wildfires today and immediately grabbed some essential items! :sa:

I got my EDC pack that I've showed earlier in this challenge. It contains drivers, two pliers, first aid stuff as well as other useful things such as a sewing kit etc. My watch is also an important item that, although just being four years old, has some memories attached to it. That left my with just very little time to grab something from my SAK collection. Luckily I could grab my birth year Soldier as well as my old cross Pioneer, which both are difficult to find.

Day 25

Well I woke up this morning to the local search and rescue boys and girls kicking on my door.  I knew there was supposed to be a big fire near Tooltown, (where I live on Spartan drive near the old Tinker factory).  Having had 24 hours notice, I had packed my truck with clothes, some things I hated to lose, my new compooter, and a fishing tackle box with a few pocky knives in it.  Ready to go when I smelled smoke.  Unfortunately, I overslept.  For the first time since 2008.
I had planned on going to Multiville, but the S&R crew told me the dam had broken there and flooded the whole place.  There was already talk of renaming Multiville to Mudville.  They will probably have to call Tooltown something like Cinderville now.  So I grabbed pants and shoes and cell phone and ran for it.  I thought I had left Trooper behind, but it was already in my pocket.  No pets in my house anymore.
I guess it's on to Leatherman gap and see if I can get across the bridge on smurfcreek into anyplace without fire.  Or high water.  I will leave a photo of my two-sided tackle box where I keep a few extra SAKs.  Best wishes.  G

You do know this is the Forest Fire mini-challenge day, right?  No fires around here, yet.  The fire scenario came from the fertile mind of friend comis.  LOOK OUT!  I think there is a wildfire in Pennsylvania!  Hitch the sheepdogs to a sled and get out of there while you still can.  Best wishes.  G

THAT'S what I forgot.  My friction ring loops.  Left them right on the kitchen counter.  Probably melted to smurf by now.  I drove my Cub up into an open space and dug out all the grass around it for 5 yards or so.  Maybe it will survive.  I brought my camp stove along with a can of red beans and rice and some flour tortillas.  At least I remembered lunch fixins.  Best wishes.  G

Wow, G, what an intro, can't write this any better!

Hope everyone in Multiville will stay safe today, and once you are out of danger, please share with us what precious collection or emergency kit you will bring with you (in case of a Forrest fire/flood/evacuation scenario).

Day 25

I live in an urban environment and only 5 min away from a fire service, so the forrest fire is probably less likely to affect me.

But for emergency high rise fire evacuation, besides the usual home key and cell phone, here are some of the items I would bring:

A knife that was given by my grandpa when I first joined Scout.  My life long fascination and collecting of sharps all starts from this.  Even though it was just a lowly Buck imitation, it means the world to me.

A red bag full of fire emergency supplies micro fibre towels, few litres of water(to wet the towel or drink), headlamps/flashlight in case of heavy smoke or power outage.

I'm hearing conflicting reports from the EBS.  Fires?, flooding?  IDK but I'd better do something.
Figured I'm too old to grab too much so I'll just go with what I generally carry in my EDC bag.

Impressive! I'd probably keep that lot in a fireproof safe.

Day 24

Happy to see they went to a good home!

I always called the things a Sodbuster, Jr.  I don't know if they are still called that or not.
Case still calls it a Sod Buster Jr.

More great stuff for today, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 25

There is no evacuation order here, but if there is, I'll definitely grab these two items.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The pilot's bag serves as my "go bag," which I feel is for use if your immediate area is unsafe but the world continues on as we know it. The knife roll contains carriers. Grabbing these two items would mean probably 90% of my collection would survive.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Unfortunately, this nifty old Schrade might not survive. It has celluloid covers, so it has to be segregated from the rest of the collection.

I hope nobody objects to another mini-challenge! If not, here it is: on Day 29, post something you came to appreciate as an adult and something that invokes a sense of childhood nostalgia. The nostalgia item need not be something you've had since childhood (for example, a Matchbox car made in 2023 would be fine even if you got your first Matchbox car in 1953), but one or both items must be a knife or multi-tool.
