Verah nice Stockman 🤠
 David

My most carried traditional, the case large stockman.
Solid choice; a very capable pattern in my experience.

With a favorite beverage…
The half & half is too much lemonade for me.  I find about 75% tea 25% lemonade about perfect, but not so easy to find pre-made.

The cherry looks good; it should be more widely used! :tu:

Case two-blade 65 pattern Folding Hunter in black micarta

Case 47 pattern Stockman in red G-10

I must admit I prefer Micarta to G-10. Maybe it's because I perceive Micarta to have more variety.

Day 24

I tried using the 99's awl to remove the nasty center from a sliced-up apple.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

As long as I rotated the apple slice and made a few passes, it did well enough.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The apple slices got dusted well-covered with cinnamon and are now being dehydrated.

I’m the opposite; all other things being equal, I’ll take G-10 over micarta.  Depending on how it’s finished, micarta can sometimes tend to absorb some liquid.  G-10 is always impervious.

30 Scouts in 30 Days: Day 24

The Boker 9361 is up there with the Kamp King, Demo Knife, and Pioneer in terms of famous scouts. My example is from the final (late 80s) generation.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I've heard the older ones are nicer, but I'm not impressed with this one. The scales have possibly the ugliest Delrin I've ever seen (and that's saying something!) faux tree bark. Tools are all functional, but nothing stand out. The can opener opens cans, but I've had better. Same with the bottle opener. Very tight, even a bit too much so.

Probably the best thing about it is a bit of curiosity on the blade:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

According to Rover Haven, which I know is someone on the forum's (Comis?) blog, these late models used parts made in the US factory, then shipped and finished in Germany. Kind of a neat bit of knife trivia, and a weird stamp. Some of my family is from Germany, so having a "German-American" knife is a cool connection.

All in all, there's nothing wrong with this knife, but also nothing distinguishing it from much cheaper models made by other companies. For something in this style/time period/price point, I'd much rather have a Camillus (or one of the rebadges from Case, Kabar, etc.)

I've got one of those in blue.  A whole lot of knife for the money but I find it's like carrying a boat anchor in my pocket.  :D

Day 25

I'll soon be dashing off to an appointment, so I don't anticipate any usage today. However, I am cautiously optimistic that I'll get a cap lifter action shot in. Meanwhile, the 99 is posing with a friend.

The English Jack rides so well in my front right and does so well filling any role. One knife does most.

Todnight it is paired with a CASE spear point😉

This version (lite), does seem heavier on the TEA, I carry a couple bottles in the car for thrust requirements plus water.
