Day 14

Got a 500. I also looked at the 501 and 112, but picked the Duke since they seem to be a little less available, and not in the custom shop. It's definitely easier in the pocket than the 110, but the slimmer handle is a little less comfy in hand. I think the 112 is probably the best EDC buck for me. We'll see if one makes it here before the end of the challenge.

Day Fourteen of Buck

I have to say for the 29.99 price for the Buck slim the steel seems to stay sharp after some light sharpening.

The orange one is calling my name.

Day 14

Did some outdoor things yesterday.  Woke up this morning and needed to work on my fingernails.  Wenger Buck at work.

I wish more SAKs had the nail file.

The orange one is calling my name.
Similar to SAKs, it isn’t the greatest steel out there but it will do what is needed and is easy to touch up.
Buck Challenge 2025
Day 14 of 30

Got home and I had received a package. Whipped out the 110 to breach the packaging and found the 442 that ElevenBlade was so gracious to send my way. Looking forward to working it into this challenge over the next couple of days. Thanks to you ElevenBlade! I will look for an opportunity to pay your generosity forward!

Awesome gift.  Love the generosity of MTO

Day 14
The new pouch came in so the SwissBuck assisted in putting a micro kit.  Cut some kevlar cord, jute, thread and duck tape for inside the kit. Also, cut apart two Aquatabs from the bigger strip.  Then cut some paracord for attaching the compass as zipper pull.

Day 13

This is my 110 Slim Pro, with black G-10 handles and S30V steel.

I really like the light weight and modified blade shape.  However, the handle is almost too thin to get a good grip on.

It might break in over time, but the action on my example is incredibly stiff.  I can OHO it, but it takes quite a bit of force, and I have visions of filleting my thumb if it slips.  I feel like this is an example of a knife that, while it is has a thumb stud, isn’t really well designed for OHO.

If someone wants a OHO Buck 110 variant, the previously shown 110 Hunter Sport is the better knife IMO, in spite of being heavier and more expensive.

Day 15

I have read a few users reporting their BuckTools were fragile!

Other indicated that warranty claims were substantial to BUCK and it was removed from the catalog.

Yours is the first I have seen being utilized, and curious if you would be kind enough to share pictures of the tool open and implements it carries.

TIA

The 113 accompanied me on a walk like it does often

That is very beautiful 113! I have never seen this greenish handle. Is it some special edition or custom made?

Quick picture while I'm trying to fix this Traeger smoker of mine. All of the individual components work, but it'll shut off randomly and drop the temp. Very annoying. The fire box is a little work out with a few rusted holes so maybe it's an airflow issue. No idea

When you say "shut off",,, do you mean actually powers off or power stays on and it just quits functioning? No error code?

Second of three items from the package the other day. This diamond pocket sharpener was just the right amount to hit the free shipping minimum. I've never used one, but I've heard people rave about them. Hopefully get a chance to use it on something this weekend.

I was looking over why my beater was floppy, and it looks like one of the pliers friction rests got a stress crack. Guessing  that may have been pretty common.

Buck told me it was irreparable, they'd give me 50% off anything in the current catalog if I sent it in, and I could use that discount, but I don't feel it's right.

Day Fifteen of Buck

Today I had a leaky fire hose on my truck. Needed to cut that end off and repair. The Buck 112 slim easily sliced thru the hose.
