I planned to follow along!  I know a little of the MacGyver back story and only saw bits and pieces of the show.  I may give him credit for me acquiring a small Tinker back a long time ago.

So, with that Tinker, my Spartan SE, or Climber, I will join in and make a go at it.  My Spirit will also, be in pocket as I do use the pliers frequently for to issues with nerves in fingers nowadays.

I started watching episode 1, and he's keen on book matches.  His SAK also appears to be perfectly balanced for throwing.

I feel like I read an interview with RDA where he said he spent hours throwing them. Just had a big ol' box and sat there practicing at some point. That throw in the opening of the first episode is really him chucking it, but I don't know how many takes it took, how far the distance is, etc.

I've got a box of SAKs that need cleaned, sharpened, etc. so I think I'm going to use this as an excuse to clean them up and rotate pretty frequently. Debating carrying a 111mm next weekend. Not really kosher for Macgyver, but I would appreciate the extra/beefier tools since we'll be at a convention. I always wind up having to fix someone's cart they broke or something.

Day 1

In this episode, I am sick, so I'm also carrying nurofen.
Farmer X, with duck tape wrapped around lollipop stick, and an original MacGyver TaskMaster XL multi-tool. It has lost its chrome finish, and needs some oiling.

Surely MacGyver would have “MacGyvered” his SAK if he were a member of MTO so I plan to show a  different  Mac worthy mod each day. Happy April fools to all.

Really liking those candy cane scales and the yellow Minichamp.   :like:

Day 1

This will be my first rotation.  We'll be starting out with a Super Tinker, duct tape wrapped around a black plastic cylinder, and old faithful, Clipper.  (Don't mind the cup of coffee.  We felt bad leaving him out of the picture.)

This fine appliance right here, is Clipper.  He's been around quite a while and has served me well when the need arose.  He's been in retirement for several years but decided to come out and join us for a bit.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

DAY 1

I still have not watched the programme, but have a good understanding

The Spartan tooth pick and paper clip used for to help with spyderco swick handle tape wrap....I knew the toothpick was useful, but teamed with a paper clip is genius..
