The beans were a little firmer than I like.  I like soft red beans, thank you.  Should have put in a little more water and cooked another ten minutes.
Same here.  Can't do hard beans, hard rice, or under cooked potatoes.

Adler Berlin freed my Mexican coffee!  :nanadance:  This is an absolute necessity for my continued survival  :o

Day 18

Scout Jr, had honors opening a River site delivery!

Included a novel set of utensils that will stay in the car in the case of utensil fails on meals on the go adventures. Smaller than expected but functional. The flat tool was a bonus, cap lifter type carabiner😜

Tightening up a door earlier with the GI knife's cap lifter straight edge.  It barely fit, but it worked!

Day 17 (late)

Awl your pics got me craving an MRE, so I made one yesterday. Spaghetti w/ shredded beef, pretty good. I used the toaster oven to try and make cheesey bread. Turned out okay.

How do you like to heat your MREs? Do you use the FRH? Just microwave them? I usually wind up popping the bread and cheese in the toaster oven one way or another (mmmm, grilled cheese) and using hot water from the kettle for the entree. Less work than the FRH, but cooks it about the same way.

MREs?  I generally heat the entree in the oven.  Put the contents in a baking pan lined with aluminum foil.  I finished off 3 or 4 cases of these things over the winter.  G

Day 18

On my travels, found a great little hole-in-wall Mexican place for lunch today.

In addition to the Jarritos, I had some excellent birria tacos and horchata.

I typically heat MREs with the FRH or just eat them cold. (That way you can save the heater for an "MRE bomb.") I'm happy that lots of Jarritos has been seen in this challenge. And that Camillus 375 looks like it could be a handy little pattern.

Speaking of Camillus...

Day 18

Here's my Camillus 27 with an X gouged into the tang stamp. This one happens to be an uncommon "ChannelLock Racing" version. I'll be showing another Camillus before the challenge ends.

Sometimes from my experience because of the language barrier, I have no idea what was served, only that is was delicious!

Awesome! I have the regular black Channellock #11 here somewhere. I have been meaning on getting that one--you just reminded me. Heck, I even bought a diecast model of the car Channellock sponsored to display with it.

Day 18: EKA Sweden--advertising Flygt pumps.

Yes, I had the Free T2 in my pocket as well. I had meant to trade it today, but didn't get to.

Handles are nickel silver and very intricately engraved (or stamped). So fancy, it's typically a dress knife. They come with the imitation leather (vinyl?) pouch. Tools: blade, bottle opener/screwdriver, and nail file.

MREs are one thing I will never crave.  For emergency meals, I stick to freeze dried or snack foods (jerky, nuts, single serve tuna, protein gels/bars).  Boil water over mini stove to heat or worst case cold soak throughout day.

I did not post anything in the last 11 days or something like that, but i did pocketcarry my Non Victorinox the whole time, when i had to use an Pocketknife, i did use it for shure,  only at task its was not made for i had to use the Spirit (mostly its Packageopener),
The Blade works quite good for cutting Breadrolls, its maybe as sharp as an SAK Blade, but a bit thicker, and even though the Knife is a bit thicker too, its still usable as Cutting Tool ..
My issue is that im often not that early come from Work, so there is not that much time left for an Daily Post , expecially as i did not found out yet how to post Pictures in the right Size for the Boards ..
Your SAK is only fully yours, when it bites you, or you opend a Trink of your joice whit it
SAKs i have: Huntsman Light (Red Transparent), Workchamp (Black), Wenger EvoGrip S557 (Red), Swisschamp XLT (Red Transparent).. Swisschamp (Blue Transparent) Cybertool L (Blue Celidor (custom scales) , Huntsman (Black Celidor) , Victorinox EvoGrip S557 (Red, but sadly lost in my house somewhere) Victorinox Delemont S17 and S57 ..  , waiting for: Swiza D09 Blue

A photo compression app is a good way to make your photos small enough to post.  There are several free downloads for phones.  I have used one for quite some time.  Best wishes.  G

Day 19

I'm not really sure of the maker of the keychain tool.  Only marking is USA along with the ad on one side.  I know everyone was waiting for the photo of me washing the red bean cooking pot, but I couldn't figure out how to get an action shot.  I am a two handed pot washer.  Other knife is the Ruff Rida.
I saw 8 turkeys in my back yard Wednesday.  First time I have seen that many at one time in a while.  The record number was 36, but that has been a decade ago or so.  Numbers dwindled down to only seeing two or three at a time was the usual number.  For many, many years the number of wild turkeys seen around my place stood at zero.  Then the NWTF started stocking them.  Numbers skyrocketed, then the coyotes moved in.  Maybe disease also, who knows?  Best wishes.  G

Phone is not the issue, when i post something via Safari on the Iphone i can chose which Picture Quallity i want, but on the Mac its dosnt give me this choice, maybe i could just upload the stuff via Google Pictures and then link via the Browser ..
I think i keep the Böker Techtool in EDC after the Challenge, its actually quite nice and its Skizzors are at least usefull, unlike on the Swizza ..

Preparing for travel, awaiting daughter to fetch me, then head south to far SW corner of Hoosier State for several soccer games and supporting my grandson the goalie. A lonely position until it is not😱

AWL sliced open a new case of water bottles.

Yep, found this on the river site, one fourth the price of the FB ads.  So maybe 1/4 the size😜
