Here's one you don't see too often.

This is Spyderco's version of the BushCraft knife.

sadly they don't. There were some tang and handle scales issues and production ceased soon, but they have a new evolved version of it, the Proficient

I was a Spyderco Dealer when the line consisted only of 100% stainless steel models.

Here are three of them that I still have from when I was a dealer.

Top one is Copilot, middle one is a serrated Worker, and bottom one is a serrated Police model.

I gave the Worker and Police models to my dad and he used a file to make the lines on the handles for looks.

If you look closely at the picture of them showing the pocket clips you will see that he filed jimping on the back of the blades where your thumb would rest.

I bought this yesterday at a flea market and I was exceptionally pleased with myself the whole rest of the day thinking I had found a rare Civilian for only $30.00 U.S.D..  Then I started doing some research and reading threads on the Spyderco Forums, and I'm now about 90% convinced that I have a fake.   That last 10% is only hanging on because I hate to accept that I could have been taken in so easily.

It seems that the Chinese copies have gotten really, really good lately. They are very nearly  exact copies of the originals and the fit and finish is perfect.  The one thing that the Spyderco Forums members all seem to agree on is that the Civilian never came in orange.  :twak:  So, the good news is I didn't pay $200 for it and I can now feel free to abuse the smurf out of it because it is definitely not a collectible and I will never sell it.
