Marvel may have peaked.......or it's just Marvel-overload.

Never saw that coming in the Ironman days

:iagree: Seems like overload to me. They have to come up with something new, it is getting boring.

Cold Pursuit - 7/10

Very enjoyable movie, leans heavily on the "reputation" of the lead actor from his previous movies.......but who cares

Ballad of Buster Scruggs. 9/10

If you like funny westerns like My Name is Nobody or My Name is Trinity you will like this. It's a Coen brother's movie so it has the feel of O Brother, Where Art Thou and humor.

I plan on watching it again, since it seems to have a deeper meaning I missed when I watched barely awake. It's on Netflix if you want to check it out.

They Shall Not Grow Old - Very good, plus a short doco after with Peter Jackson talking about/showing how it was brought to life which was just as good.

Went to the movie theater today, and we watched avengers endgame, I must say it was a real tearjerker for the wife, wasn’t to bad I’d give it a 7-8 out of 10,

Avengers Endgame  8/10

Saw Avengers Endgame on the first day of showing at home, personally I felt it might be a little long but I guess it is unavoidable due to the contents they want to cover.  After 20+ MCU movies, I think it is a pretty decent end-of-chapter kinda movie and am eager to see where we go from here.  I'm with MP here--but I gave it a 8/10, not only on how good it was, but am amazed how they lay down all the leads up to this point and were able to cash it in on this one go.

Ok, “venom” I must say was a pretty cool movie, had a couple funny parts to it too, if you watch it you gotta keep playing after the first credits cause someone plays a very little part, just like that someone else who’s known for Marvel comics! A good 8/10!
JR
I enjoyed Venom as well. It was decent and co created by Todd McFarlane I think, same guy who made Spawn. I was big into comics growing up.

Speaking of which I have a couple of Venom number 1's and a 0 I think in my stash from when I was a kid.

I need to sell that crap lol. Someone else would enjoy it more than my closet.

Shazam 9/10

I was under the influence but I really enjoyed this movie.  Not a character/story I'm familiar with, does feel like it's pitched at a younger audience, but still  :hatsoff:

DC on the accent?

I think so.....

As a stand alone probably a 7/10, but for a Marvel junkie it was great!  :salute:

I wonder who the writer was, because my country got a mention.

The mostest stupidest character in the movie is Colonel Ulenga of the Namibian Defense Force, which is very fitting.  :salute:
The surname is indeed local.
Those in charge are indeed idiots......
.......only thing is they corrupt to the bone and in real life very unfunny.

Leap year 7-8

Romantic comedy, watched it on apple tv, result of a free friday night and wife.  The lines are ok, but the story is not that touching or convincing.

Brightburn 7/10 with a bit of

Worth watching, but if it's not a pilot to a series it's a very strange movie

GG, you probably knew this--this film was adaptation from an anime, and that anime was really a gem, just as good as the Ghost in the shell(if not better).  :D

A Prayer Before Dawn 8/10

Possibly the most disturbing film I've ever watched. Based on a true story apparently

Spyderman Far from home   8/10

At the beginning I was thinking the whole thing was a little dull, but the pace and story picks up from midway and it was actually pretty good!

Avengers Endgame - 8.5/10

I really enjoyed the movie, just long and I have a few  so it needed two viewing to finish

I seem to have grown a bit allergic to time traveling, but in this movie it was just a mild irritation for a while.

The Hustle 4/10 - Funniest thing about the movie was the trailer, during the actual movie I honestly laughed once

Aladdin */10 - I got past where Will Smith started singing with somebody else's voice......almost got interesting but the moment Aladdin started singing I stopped watching

Once upon a time...in Hollywood.  7/10

Can't talk about it much, if you are into Tarantino movie, you won't be disappointed.  Not as classic as Pulp Fiction, but still a good piece and great acting from everyone involved.

The open house (2018) - 3/10

Not awful, but nothing new either. Movie isn’t really worth watching just to kill time either.

I am mother (2019) - 6/10

It’s actually an okay movie, starts out really well but falls a bit short towards the end....feels almost like they ran out of money towards the end.

Alien Warfare (2019) - 0/10

Everything about this movie just feels cheap....almost looks like a film project some collage students made for a class.

Not even worth watching just for the crap factor

Spectral (2016) - 5/10

Props this movie for trying something new, and it’s not a bad movie. I just feel like if they had just a couple of more million dollars to put into it; it would have been so much better.

The ritual (2017) - 06/10

Not a bad movie, kept me entertained and wondering WTF will happen next the whole time.
It’s sort of / kind of a modern take on the Blair witch project, definitely has a lot of similarities.

My only problem with it; is there’s nothing really memorable about it. It’s one of those “watch and forget” kind of movies.

(Then again so are most new movies IMO, just take The Avengers or X-men movies for instance)

None of the characters really gets developed enough for me to care about them when they die, and the “monster” is kind of blah too.

But again; it was entertaining enough, so won’t give it a too low a score either.
