Yum, those look tasty!  Reminds me of an old Brady Bunch episode where Peter says, "Pork chops and apple sauce."

Update on the transmission problem. I did some digging and found 2015 Escape my folks have features the PowerShift transmission, which is poorly engineered and prone to premature failure. It's either a bearing, seals, or a sensor, among other things. And it being fixed isn't a guarantee it won't need it again.

That seems to be the weak link in almost every car or truck anymore.  Blasted things are so complicated it's amazing how they work at all.  Sorry to hear that Cody.

Really ironic, in that I made a trip to Advance Auto Parts yesterday, and in the parking lot, I noticed a sweet '71 Chevy C-10 with the 400 V-8. All original, and hardly any rust issues. And still going strong.

Today, to meet the constantly changing safety and emissions regulations, cars have to change constantly. And that just means more stuff to break. That is part of the reason I'm really shunning cars with all the new "adaptive driver safety feature" packages. Even two modern, but older cars in the garage are basic compared to most current cars; one's my 1998 Dodge Ram, the other the 2009 Ford Edge that's now the main car. Both of these were top-level trims when new. Cars like your VW, or my Jeep can have most repairs handled with really small, basic toolsets. Heck, our SAKs can do most of them; and with pliers, a hammer, and an adjustable wrench, that's the rest (and a multimeter).  Yet, newer cars require specialized knowhow and tools for dealing with diagnostics and sensors. Even tractors are that way. The 2017 Deere 3038E used as the garden and barnyard tractor (backing up a heavy-duty 1996 5400) is really heavy on computers, especially those that control the emissions systems. I tried to talk them into getting an older tractor they wouldn't have to go in debt for (and we almost bought a Massey Ferguson 150 from a family friend), and I may pick up an older IH, Massey Ferguson, or Oliver myself soon. There's a long list of those I can get under $2000; sometimes with a loader or implements included.

I think Peter was quoting Bogart in an old B&W film......if memory serves.

Regardless.....Pork chops and apple sauce make a great combo!   :tu:

Day 23
Although the Outrider was carried most of the day, it was the Soldier that got used when I forgot the Outrider downstairs.

The Soldier helped out with cut plastic wrap off a new lamp so it could be put together, then it cut up several boxes as part of “winter cleaning”.

I hate all the electronic systems in vehicles nowadays.  More things to fail and less that the common person can work on.

Day 24:
Sentinel entering the stage.
Checked on my Timbersports axe’s and snapped a pic of my best one with the Vic. Temp. has risen from -25 to +3 so the outside air is very damp, this can also be seen on the blade.
Also noticed that license plate holder on the C-klasse has failed. Had no replacement ones, so it’ll have to hang with just one for awhile

Day 24

Well it finally snowed here! :woohoo:Only 2” and doubtless it’ll melt soon enough, so I got out early and took the Rescue Tool because why not?! No actual use, oddly enough, but I did take a snowy shot
