Dang chrono,  you are most certainly on a lifetime naughty list.  Come on LM thats not cool at all.

Yeah, I tried at every Garage release, thinking I could crack their system with different info combo. Then I would come back and whine to you guys  >:D I am not salty though. There is a Spyderco Yojumbo sprint run coming my way.  :D

Next step, maybe I should try buying LM gift cards to see if they let me pay.

I think they’re waiting for a few of you collectors to review the Mr Crunch on their website so they can put those plier jaws on a new production model for the rest of us!

Reading posts about the warranty I thought it could be summed up as "go smurf yourself," but you can't lose the money, just the tool.   :-\

Their warranty is just acknowledging that these are truly limited runs and they do not maintain stock for warranty replacements for the normal 25 year duration. Frankly, I don't see how they can do much better than a 100% store credit refund if the tool breaks.

I can see that but some of the accessories should have had extras made just in case some were broken when they received the item

So yeah, it looks like the tiny holes in the blades themselves are detent holes, with the blade held in by a thumbstud screw? They've made an expensive utility knife and entirely missed the point of having a real knife with exchangeable blades, being able to change the blade quickly and conveniently...

I don't understand why they bothered to make this, or why 'thing made from parts we had lying around' costs over $200? This isn't R&D, it's just stupid stuff price gouging collectors.

Both Garage Batch 1 and 2 had experimental  features (for Leatherman) that were not listed in the advertisement, so I suspect that this one is the same.

Personally, I don't think $215 is unreasonable for a nice knife with S30V and 154CM blades.

On the bolded part it's a bit steep compared the knife industry, you could argue you're getting two blades, but they also had no (or at least minimal) material cost for it.

If they were going to make premium-priced knives with Garage it would have been nice to see them actually step into the knife industry in a meaningful way, higher end steels, bearings, flippers etc.

I find this piece very unexciting, but it has given me a nice little idea I hadn’t thought of, to file away for later if desired: A spare bit holder can be put on a lanyard or keychain to have a handy tiny screwdriver.

What I don't understand is that why they simply didn't offer a Free K-Series with an upgraded blade. I think that one of these with upgraded blade steel would blow something like the Benchmade Weekender (which looks really awkward in my opinion) out of the water. Weren't some of the early folders that LM made all 154CM?

Different aims, the Weekender is a modern trad with a bottle opener, the K series is more like Kershaw's DIY or Selectfire models

What makes me hesitate on pulling the trigger is their statement in leftover parts. Maybe leftover from R & D/Production  with some parts that are new?

I would say priced too high if true.

I dont want to be rude but I was put off by that "left over parts" bull smurf.  I almost felt like LM took a shot at the buyers.  Look we can assemble scrap parts and you will buy it.

I know thats not the case but come on LM.  It was any the very least was lame to say.  There was no reason to say that.

A couple of things. I bought one, but it bugs me that they didn’t provide minimum details on the opening, lock, dimensions, how many were made, etc.

I also think that perhaps we overthought this, and seeing how they are putting out a new release every 3-4 months maybe we should lower our expectations.

...They decidied to use a T6 for something that is meant to regularly be changed?

Those screws are going to strip out fast if anyone actually uses it.

Which situation calls for 154CM and which for S30V?  Some of these description writers just simply wanted to fill the page and go home.

I am curious on what is the problem they are trying to solve. I’m more a cubicle mouse but I’ve never encountered a problem where I needed 2 different blade shapes.

Jack knives have the same blade options and quicker to switch out. But my understanding on why they have multiple blades is that you have a back up blade that is sharp once one is dull.

Certain blade shapes and profiles definitely excel at different tasks. However, a traditional knife (or a second folder) would be more convenient than this. I think Leatherman is just doing cash grabs at this point.

I like the size specs.  Thats a nice every day size knife IMO.  The weight is not bad either.  I don't have a problem with 2 blades but I'm thinking you'll need to know which you want for the day.  I do like the blade shapes too.   It would have been cool to see them incorporate that second blade into handle so I can take it with me.  Same for the bit to change it out.

Come on LM y'all can be more creative.
