  Day 21.  :salute:

4:00 AM is here, a snap of my pocket dump before retiring.

Grandson is tolerating my encouragement, to get moving.  “This nothing, you will have morning far more demanding in your future!!!”
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Wow, that's one long day, and thanks for doing the pocket dump at 4am!  No doubt the Grandson will grow up appreciating all these distances you folks have gone for him.

BRK knives "lightweight" gunny.  Till this day I can never comprehend why they put really sharp jimping/guard on top of the blade...it does serve much of a purpose, except ripping the sheath each time I take it out/or putting it back in.

Filing down the upper most point of the jimping might solve the ripping sheath problem.  Otherwise it is an awesome blade.

I'm still using the Bradford Guardian 3.5 and carrying it in a cargo pocket today instead of the back pocket.  It's not a bad knife at all to use.  I just don't care for the sheath it came with.  I may eventually have to buy a vertical sheath.  Bradford may have something on their website that I'll look at when I have a chance.

Uh, no,  Not really.  First the package arrived with medicine for the cat.  Then it was cheese and a tortilla for lunch.  Totally unrelated except for my use of the G3.5S.

Day 20:

Forgot to post it, and by the time I remembered, it was a bit late (I can't type well on the phone).

Used the El Morro for light around the house work, like opening  a case of pop.

Used a butcher knife my great-Granddad made during the great Depression for some kitchen tasks.  With a few holdouts (some belonging to the husband of one of my great-aunts may have been sold in a yardsale after he moved), I own nearly all the knives he made, and had used to process hogs for many decades, alongside with a few factory-made examples.

Blade--thin, flexible. Steel is said to have been salvaged from old, broken  crosscut saw blades.

Handle: copper pins. Presumed Chestnut handle.

:iagree: BRK does put some pretty aggressive jimping on their knives. Comis, you might try using a little fine sandpaper to "soften" those edges and burrs.   :tu:

No uses today.....no...that's not right.... It was a busy day and flew right by..... Now that I reflect back, I did use the BLJ to open a large box containing a new crate for Adventure Girl and to cut some silicone tape to wrap the handles on said crate. No pics of that, however.

I was preparing to do a littl egarden work, but the rain chased me inside. Winter storm on the way.....maybe.   :D

Family get together, zipping open a pack of wood.

Bieng this close to a city having to buy these stupid little bundles is far far diffrent than cutting and stacking cords for winter growing up.. ...
Both really smurf in their own way but I'd prefer to be there than here.
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Even if you can't be far from a bathroom, sometimes tasks come to you, Spike opened up some mail. Despite not being edge-centric (it's designed for stabbing) it has no problems with cleanly slicing paper.

Thanks for the correction, I should have looked this one up before posting...naming your own knife wrong could be embarrassing.  :D

Filing down the upper most point of the jimping might solve the ripping sheath problem.  Otherwise it is an awesome blade.

:hatsoff:. Thanks for the suggestions, I think I am just going to file it down with sandpaper. :tu:

Thanks Nate for the vid, interesting to learn about its origin.

Funny I almost never put my thumb on any knife spine for use(I tend to keep that part sharp anyway for scraping or firesteel), I know Philippino martial art may use such grip for self defense, but I often felt that extended thumb could be vulnerable and prone to injury. :dunno:
