My very first Opinel mod, just finished this morning...
:like:

I am a huge Camillus fan,,, loving that scout Sir!!!
:hatsoff:

Technically the TL-29 was issued to me in a tool box and it uh got "lost."
That Camillus 27 looks like it came right out of the box!

Now to find a can to open.
Hope you don't have to rush out to the store!

More great stuff from awl! :2tu:

Day 5

Unless my Kaiser-Willys catalog arrived today and they sent it in an envelope or a bag, the 99 won't see any use till at least tomorrow.

30 Campers in 30 Days: Day 5

Getting stuff done around the house while the wife is out today. She wanted this "tub shroom" to try and help keep the hair out of the tub drain. Not sure it'll work with our design (I think it's supposed to sit lower), but can't hurt to give it a try. Cleaned out the other drains and did a few other minor maintenance things while I was in there. Everything easily handled by this Jowika "Camper's Knife" from Ireland. I think close to half my scouts are Irish from when I was testing them against ones from other countries during the country of origin challenge. I would rate this one on the lower end of usable, but it's also obviously seen a lot of use. Hard to tell how much is bad initial construction vs getting the smurf beat out of it before I got it. Don't love that shallow claw can opener though.

Day 6 - GEC & Scout

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I misplaced the GI Jack, it is an easy pocket carry with the Wharncliff blade and can opener, just as the Barlow single blade.

The RR Tiger camp knife, in the ready, riding in my crossbody bag for this morning walk.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Started in the morning by opening new granola package using my Boker Lockback Bubinga.

Then needed to paint our outdoor furniture for the terrace so used my Mikov to open another tin…

Wright Sheepsfoot today.
Nice sheepsfoot. I used to have one too. It was brand new from the Sheffield factory but it was big pain to open it. Very stiff. So I got rid of it.

This one was the same.  None of my other Wright knives are nearly as tough to open as this one (though I think it has eased up a little over the years).

How is your zip-tie seat cover fix holding up?

I think my 3137 might have to come out for a photo opportunity with the 99.

The RR Tiger camp knife, in the ready, riding in my crossbody bag for this morning walk.
I can't help but thinking they missed the mark with that one. Orange would suit it very well.

More great stuff, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 6

Tested out the awl on a package. A little sharpening would have made it perform much better in that role. Challenge rules prevent the contents of the box from being seen here.

That Camillus 27 looks like it came right out of the box!

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

It basically did, the tool box was from 2003, I was issued it in 2018 along with other stuff, and it still had the stickers on. I never carried it, it unfortunately is not the heat example of one. The scredriver blade sits very high in the bladewell. Even after shaving the kick down completely. So eventually a year ago I shaved down the curve on top of it to make accessing the spear easier. Honestly I should probably enlarge it even more.

A shame because I quite enjoy Electrician knives.
