I was about to make the olive one be the badge. Any objections? The challenge is almost over.
I’m good with that.

Two favorite.
Nice pair
I need to do some catch up.

Day 29
Stockman and package duty.
(Image removed from quote.)

Day 30
110 helped to prepare oatmeal - cut some grapes.
(Image removed from quote.)
Good uses
Day 30: I'm finishing the challenge off with the 112 TRX. The 055 got left at home today to make room for my new 84mm custom that came in the mail from Lazar yesterday. I've really enjoyed this 112 throughout the challenge. I carried it when I first got it but it quickly took backseat to others. It just feels so good in the hand.

That 112 is sweet looking.

Can't wait to see what you do with the 84mm, look forward to future pics!  Maybe we should do an 84mm 30 day challenge, is there a 30 day badge for 84mm's?
There is a “Tween” challenge badge that includes 84mm SAKs.

Day Thirty of Buck

Just got home from a long road trip for work.
Got the Buck favorites for a shot. The 112 is my go to choice. Just the right size and traditional nostalgia that performs well in the future too.

Day 30

One more box to open.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

There's not much to be said about the 110 that hasn't been. It's a great knife. Feels good in hand, looks great, build like a tank. It's too much knife for my EDC, so there's probably a 112 in my future.

I thought the 500 might be a better choice ("It fits better in your pocket," they said!) but the harsh lines couldn't compare to the classic Buck palm filling curve.

I still think I'd take a Case 18 over a 303, but the 301 is an absolute tank of a Stockman. One that I'll enjoy giving some pocket time too.

And that lease the 825. Probably destined to be a shelf queen. But how many people have a knife with the piece of Lady Freakin' Liberty in it? Keep the torch lit.

Day 30

Well that’s it!  I really liked carrying a Buck for the month, and I certainly could carry it long term.

As for the 112 specifically, thanks to FarmerX for sending it my way, I think that the blade is perfect. I find the handle to be a little longer than it needs to be but it’s not bad at all.

I’m looking forward to getting one of the Buck Range knives that’s being released this year, if I can find a good discount.

It’s been fun y’awl.  I’ll meet you on the Combo Edge Challenge.

Day 29;

Purchased an old (but not too old--I'm guessing '70s  or  '80s) Jensen 70 steam engine (made in PA--and still are being made there to this date) at an antique store today for $30 as a project.

Needs: smokestack, safety valve, whistle--plus I will replace all the seals. The parts lists mention a sight glass, but I'm unsure where it is on this one or if I need one.   Should be about $60 in parts, but a new one's $300.

Day 30

110 Hunter Sport with tonight’s supper:  Thai red curry with rice, spring rolls, & Thai iced tea.

Going into the challenge, I thought perhaps the 301 would be my most carried Buck, but I kept going back to the 110 Hunter Sport.

Thanks for a fun challenge all!

How will you monitor the water level in the boiler if there is no sight glass?

Day 30

Here's my Buck Canoe helping me relax this evening.

Thanks to Sos24 for hosting this challenge.  It was fun one.  Because of this challenge, I got to pick up two new Bucks along the way that I wasn't familiar with.  One of them is this Canoe that I'm going to have to carry more often.

See ya'll at the next one.

The window on the side of the boiler, I think.

Apparently, the sight glass was only used on some early models.

Day 30

Thank you everyone for joining me on this challenge.  I was not expecting such a turn out when I thought of the challenge.  There have been so many great Bucks pictured and used.  It was great to see them all.

Here are three of my most used

Day 30

Late day today. I really only carried this in the morning. When my daughter got off school we spent the evening st Disneyland, so the 112 took a nap in the car.

I see.

Semantics I suppose, but I would consider any glass that allows one to see the water level in a boiler to be a sight glass, and note that there are various designs.

Either way, should be a fun little project!  :tu:

Buck Challenge 2025
Day 30 of 30

Anybody notice the price hike in coffee lately. Seems droughts have affected the Arabica bean supply. Just thought I'd share that there are still some deals on Amazon that might help you get by until the supply issue is resolved.

Thanks for those awesome Buck pictures this month.  :salute: :hatsoff: :like:

Lots of different models !  :gimme:

Buck is a brand I highly regard. Great blades at a great price. They have something for everyone.

Here's a pic from the late eighties . I had my Bucklite, friend David had a Buck 112 Ranger, Greg had a Bucklite too.
