To everyone with pocket clips on their Spirits, does the tool fit into a Vic "non plus" leather sheath?
No idea. The whole point of having a clip was so I didn't have to use a sheath. ;)

Good point  I ask because I usually pocket carry but I like to use the sheath from time to time.

Anyways I should be receiving a shiny new Spirit today  :mail: :ahhh I've held off for so long but had to scratch that itch...

Mini-review. So the mailman left a Spirit in my mailbox today, just in time for my night class (Mechatronics major). First impressions, man this thing is nice! Almost too nice… I fondled it for a while leaving lots of fingerprints, and it still looks good. I’m smitten. I tested the philips and flat drivers on some light switch covers that didn’t really need adjustment  and on a closet door handle that has been a bit rattley. I LOVE the long shanks on the drivers. I tested the scissors on the rest of my mail and, while they work well enough, I’m not a huge fan. I may mod them to open wider but I’ll give it more time. In class, I made a point to use the multi as much as possible and put the wire cutter and stripper to use. The chisel/stripper tool works great and if I wasn’t already sold on the tool, I am now. The cutters work as good as any multitool for solid core wire, but kinda iffy for stranded. Not as good as my Charge in that regard, but it works just fine. Back home now, I used the bottle opener on a beer (twist off cap haha) and cut down the box with the glorious butter blade. I really like that this tool only has a serrated blade, to complement my folder without redundancy. Anyways here’s some pics…

My Spirit would like to join...with the Manager of course  :D

I get a bit confused, at the end of April 2016 I'm going to visit my grandma in her birthday celebration. It's about 2 hours away by plane. Should I take the Spirit + Manager or Spirit + Compact or should I take only the Swisschamp with me?

I think I'm right in saying that MTO rules state you have to take all of them.

So it will be the Spirit, Manager, Compact and Swisschamp in one package...

i've just ordered a spirit and the description said "no scissors".
does anyone know if that means it will have both blades instead of the scissors?

Thanks magnetus,
I assumed as much but it's a Spanish website and the English description wasn't clear, I don't want the scissors as I've always got a micra handy.

All in all I think they should have found a way of including both blades and the scissors.
The butter blade - badass as it is  -  is just the wrong shape for certain tasks. It's ace for butchering cardboard boxes, not so ace for brain surgery.
The pointy blade is one of Victorinox's more delicate efforts. If it were the only blade you'd really need a separate tool for gladiatorial combat or they'd just laugh at you in the Circus Maximus. Is it my imagination or is that thing even feebler than the big blade on a Spartan?
Scissors - well I don't have scissors on my Spirit. For a while I thought, "Who needs scissors?" but since then I realise they're pretty damn handy. Especially if you have a kid who wants you to cut out pictures from magazines without leaving the rest of "Horse & Pony" in tatters.
As it is, the Spirit is a wonderful tool and is a lovely tactile object, but you are always going to need something else to go along with it. Though that could be said of basically every pocket knife...

I love my Spirit and it`s my EDC (second one, first one was stolen)

Last Month I decided I want a new Spirit but in Black Oxide!

Been looking for BO Spirit with the scissors and I can`t find it anywhere, why?

Are this still available? or discontinued?

Where are the BO spirits?

Thank you.
Enjoy!

Seem to be readily available in Europe - Amazon or eBay for example. Try searching for 3.0224.3CCH

They're actually pretty cool looking in BO. Of course that is personal opinion from a guy who wouldn't touch a BO tool a year ago. ::)

Agree, since they dont make a BO model with scissors and without the (for me) useless cap crimper. Typical Vic hitting the nail on the head, and bending it. "Hey, let's put the alox scissors nail nick on the wrong side!" I can hear them giggling in Ibach from here...

I didn't know there was a club!? I got mine a couple of months ago, love it.

The "plus" version is well worth it for the mini ratchet set and standard size 1/4" bits.

So the money I saved up to get a Spirit got spent to fix our AC. Pro tip, do not try and live in Georgia without AC.

Anyhow this now gives me time to over analyze the choice between a X and the standard model?

What say you?

I say the standard model, especially if you'll carry a SAK with it.  The butterblade is a great companion to the traditional SAK blade :tu:
