my Spirit X is still, without a doubt, my "go-to" MT.  It's become the standard by which I judge most other MT's. :)

I'm still a fan of the standard version. Scissors and butter knife lets me back it up with any OHO folder. My Kershaw leek usually!

It appears I've just bought a BO Spirit S :)

It's been 2 months and it still hasn't arrived. So I guess I'm still not a member of this elite owners club

SBB-CFF-FFS - Swiss Federal Railways version.  I'm not sure if I had seen this one before or not.

I believe all militay issued Spirits (for the Dutch army) are BO Spirit S models.

So, it's a BO Spirit S 8)

Hmmm.... that would be interesting. Most military versions are with the Cap-Crimper Spirit-X-CC-BO.

I thought so too. But I can't see the cap-crimper pliers head on this pic:

It should arrive tomorrow so then I will know more :)

It has arrived :)
I love it. I like how the Spirit really is a lot smaller and lighter than my regular SwissTool. The black oxide coating rubs off very easily though. Is that normal? It already has a couple of lighter colored spots where I wiped off some dried oil.

The Dutch Army brown leather sheath is awesome.

I bought it to trade or sell later on. Anyone interested? :D

the BO did come off kind of easy on mine.
so I put some non abrasive car wax on it and the BO was much better and gave the tool a better feel IMO.

Great!  is it a Spirit-S configuration?  Any special Dutch Military markings?

Yes the BO does initially rub off... just wipe it all down, it goes a little more grey, but after that my experience is it does not come off any more after that unless unless scratched.  I like the look of it, but initially it will turn your hands black until the extra is taken off.

Thanks for the info Frances :tu:
I didn't wipe it down since I want to keep it as new as possible :)

It is a 'regular' BO Spirit S (non-CC pliers). No special markings (except on the sheath of course).
