Another one I forgot about....it was down in the bottom of a box with a bunch of Swiss Champs/Champions.

Nice ones CS.

Especisally like the SoL Classic - I guess you normally buy that one on Liberty Island, or in NYC ??

Hey one question for you SAK/Classic experts out there...

I know Vic has its special edition Classics - and there are loads of these out there - Also advertising logo'd Classics etc

But when we see Classics with non standard scales such as those in CS's post - Are they all made by Victorinox?
- Or are there other organisations out there producing 'factory' scales?
... I'm not talking about individual custom scales like our modders make

The Statue of Liberty was done for Liberty Insurance. Someone scratched their name on the opposite side, and I replaced it with another old handle in better shape.

A lot of the commercial Classics are done by specialty advertising companies. Don't know who does the limited edition exclusives for companies like Swiss Army Knife.

https://www.4imprint.com/product/6309-s

Most of the ones shown are ad knives.

The reverse of nos. 2, 3 & 6.

Hey - Thanks for the reply and additional information CS - Interesting  :tu:

I know Vic have their own advertising and artwork department
- But I guess there are just too many out there for Vic to do them all!!

I wonder if other companies need some sort of license to do it - Maybe only if they include the Vic shield??
And would the Vic warranty be voided!!
Rhetoric questions!! Unless someone feels like responding :)

Website was interesting - I wish I owned a company - Then I could be placing an order for some nice Christmas giveaways

Just received a Solo (108mm version) from I believe a forum member with a great taste in knives ( but questionable taste in single malt whisky  :D). Will post a picture or two once I get a chance.

That is correct!

(about the taste in knives I mean  :D)

Enjoy your Solo!  8)

Sorry for the late response, I missed your post! It was only when I saw your post in that topic about the alox display that I realised: huh? k9medic? isn't that the guy who bought the Solo on eBay?  :D

These two just arrived in the post ... I know one isn't a SAK but it looks pretty SAKlike to me.

The Midnight Manager has the red light. I only bought it to make myself feel better about the lamp on my Mountaineer Lite...

Looking forward to trying this Boker thing. I could have got the simplest model, with just the blade, but you always feel like such a plonker when you're carrying a SAK and you have to fetch another tool just to crack open a beer. Why don't they sell this one with a Philips instead of a corkscrew?! Very silly. Now the number of corkscrews in this household has hit ca. 12,000.

I like it, the blade is great (great shape, just perfect for me). Found the rescue-blade-screwdriver thingy to be a sad affair and the scissors were also not that great but the rest is  :tu:
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I enjoyed reading your review of the Boker (and the Swiza) - I found it only after I'd ordered this one. Mine doesn't have scissors - which is a stroke of luck, by the look of things. Yes, I wish they'd made up their mind about the belt-cutter/screwdriver. I might have to follow your advice and just pretend it's not there...

You can use the red LED to find your Mountaineer when the power goes out! Which you can then use to find a proper flashlight!   ;)

I know it's ...(drumroll)... sakrilege, but I might just remove these beautiful but chunky blue scales and stick some camo on there... turn it into a regular Rambler, which I don't have at the moment. But I do like the badge-button mechanism, it would be sad to see that consigned to the garbage bin. Decisions, decisions.
