12 beaters. Well, 11. The bubble-bag got "damaged" somehow and the contents were re-packed by the post office... after postman Pat helped himself to the 85mm Black scaled Wenger.

but the list is

Wenger Apprentice
Wenger 85mm, same tools as evo16 but it has classic scales.
Wenger Handyman times 2
Wenger Traveler
Wenger Esquire times 2
Victorinox Tinker small
Elinox Camper
and the one that caught my eye...  Wenger Tradesman (pliers)

the missing black one looks like it was 2 layer, nothing special, but still annoying.

So, there is plenty of fun to be had with this lot, will break most of them down and grade the tools from salvageable down to totally borked (like the nailfile on one of them that has been sharpened to a knife on the inner edge).
Should be able to build up 4 maybe 5 reasonable 85mm Wengers. and a couple of "who cares if you lose it" users.

One of the Esquires is okay,  the other one has a bent blade...   err, make that broken

The Elinox Camper looks like a textbook "carried a lot, used very rarely" case. scales are worn badly, but tools in VGC, blades have factory edge. I'd say that once she is degummed it will have good snap too. WD-40 path for that old girl.

The small tinker is also "worn scales, VGC tools", even with a fair bit of pocket cooties in it there is new knife level of snap. that is one that I can see making it into the edc rotation.

And in other news... I picked up a Vic' Golfer the other day for 10bux. That will give me the combo tool to build a Yeoman.

The latest SAK I got was a Spartan 2012 Limited Edition (115th anniversary of the Officer's knife, the ancestor of the current Spartan), purchased almost a month ago, now.

Here are the differences with respect to a usual Spartan:

1) The box is a special one with "Limited Edition" written on the front, and a model history on the back,
2) it comes with a booklet,
3) it has a neat lanyard, and
4) there's a serial number on the metal bit behind the corkscrew. Mine in particular is a 2012 - 009706. :D

I don't have any pictures, as I don't have anything to take them with... however, I did manage to find this picture of someone else's 2012 Spartan online, so that you can see what the lanyard and booklet is all about:

My next SAK will be a Victorinox Climber. :)

I've seen those Spartans in Geneva. They were assembled in front of the customers' eyes. A Japanese bought one, together with a Tomo Classic.

It's always neat to see SAKs being assembled. Not a fan of the Tomo, to be honest, it's too "unSAKish" in my eyes. :P

It would be cool to see it made.  It would be cooler to be able to make it yourself, like Def did a few times. :D

Yes, there's this distinct pleasure in being able to whip out a SAK and say, "I've made this...". :D

Just you wait - I've heard SAKaholism is more likely with every SAK you buy.  :P BTW, great series, the Alox SAKs. After I get this Climber, I have to get my first Alox too - I've read they're built like tanks!

Nah, it is only a couple of them. I only wanted a few alox ones.  I am sure there are models I missed but that okay.  I havent found the perfect alox one to carry yet but my fav non-alox is the Explorer.  Lots of useful tools and if they made one in alox, I would have two! :D

I did also just get a silver alox classic and solo a short time ago. :)

Amici,
Once again I thought I would try a new Swisschamp with hardwood scales, since I found one at a price I just couldn't refuse...

Cheers,

Only those with small blades and electrician blades are discontinued here as well.

I can get them locally for $23,50 US without shipping. But they are not discontinued in Europe yet. If I remember correctly Syph007 paid $94 CA for all four of them shipped from Germany.

That price doesnt sound too bad if they are discontinued here in the US.   They look like a nice two blade sak so I was curious.  If that is all he paid, then it sounds like he got a good deal.

Thanks for the replies.

Yup, with whatever the conversion rate was at the time it worked out to 94 USD with shipping.  I had to ask the seller first what combined shipping was, but it worked out to a decent deal.

This was the seller if anyone else is after one, some, lots...

http://www.ebay.de/itm/260768086754?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1473wt_1163

Shipping was 11 days from germany to Canada, and I think the shipping was 5.90 euro.
