I recently orderrd an Wenger Evowood 18 from Felinevet Tim :climber:  Since it is a special order.  It will take longer than usual. :sak:

I am considering getting a custom sak or Explorer for the mag glass so I can look at coins, jewelry and other small stamped items as well as fine print...:D

I use the mag glass on coins as well when I have it on me at work.  A lot of people don't notice what they put in rolls or spend.  The glass is useful to check mint marks and the like, and has even helped identify several error coins!  :tu:
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

I find the newer version of the lens (clear) better than the older (grey) because it has a longer focal length, better eye relief, greater field of view and (it seems) less optical aberrations. You can see a whole word at 5x where the older gave a distorted picture at the outer 50% at 8x. It seems more fragile though but I bet it is durable, it is a Victorinox!

I didn't think this myself until I got my CT Lite and compared the mag glass in it to the one in my old Explorer.  I find I actually like the newer one better, primarily because of the larger field of view.  I've only got the old one from my Explorer to use in my Yeoman though, so I'm going to have to live with it.

In fact, I've come to find having a magnifying glass so handy, that I've been shopping for a larger, dedicated folding one to keep in my EDC bag.

Check out the True Utility one. They're cheap but very good for the price

Something Old; Something New.

The Old; a 1960s Wenger with metal shield.

The New; a Ralph Lauren Rugby blue and gold Huntsman. Picked up on ebay for considerably less than Ralph Lauren was asking for it.

They still offer the Classic version (for more than I paid for the Huntsman on ebay).

I once tried to get logged on to the Ralph Lauren site to order something else, but couldn't get it to work. Guess I'm not classy enough.

Nice condition. :tu: The corkscrew looks a bit weird though, 3 turn? I've been searching for a Wengerinox "forester" with crossbow Suisse shield for a while now but every time one pops up it is either in terrible condition or way out of my price range.

The old version is way more durable because it is glass lens. ;)

My latest is a Victorinox Director with smooth scales. They gave me a discount of 80%! They also had a couple of Deluxe models including one with shield & cross (rare) and some nice horn and MoP SAKSs. Very cool.

Good catch Reinier  :tu:

I was intrigued by the "posh" rectangular ones at the bottom till sakwiki revealed they were only 58mm (Deluxe). If they had been 74s I might have been tempted

I recently bought that sucker off Ebay for a bargain.

From the looks of the scissors this is an 84mm Climber, right?
Long nail file. Yummy. I was surprised by the way the scissors are mounted. I didn't find any specific information about this one. Anyone willing to enlighten me?

How does a backspring of a long nailfile look like? Does it need four pins?
Say my name.
