Very nice Pioneers there.

The New Fieldmaster arrived the other day. I love the tool load on this SAK. :tu: This model could very well be my Victorinox weak spot.

The saw has the one up over the Explorer. The phillips is a plus on the tool but, the placement of it could restrict some usage. Also I like its thinner profile over the Explorer. I felt that right away. Its a close call. Both Vics are stand out tools in their own way.

Syph made it, so I know it is not a defect, the nail nick was my best guess as to "why"

I picked up this little Cavalier a few days ago.  It was dirty, but that was easy to fix.  Sharpened it.  The scales were beat up, as usual with these "keychain" size knives and I tried something new: "rain-ex Headlight Restorer" applied first with 0000 steel wool and then again with a scrap of terry cloth.  It worked OK, diminishing the smaller dings and evening out the finish overall.  I wasn't able to acheive a true new-knife gloss, though.  I like the blade selection on the Cavalier, although I haven't had any use for a "cuticle pusher" since sometime in the '80's.  Some of the multilayer 58mm knives have what seems to me an unnecessary number of cutting blades.  Anyway, here it is:
