The Klein was not in stock, for some reason. I got refunded.

My folks retired our Stihl 011AV, and gave it to me. I bought a new chain today, and had it serviced at the dealer. I am always pretty safety-concious when I do stuff; and proper PPE is definitely on it. I always wear safety glasses when using power tools, and while not steel toe, my Muck boots have a heavy and thick enough rubber toe that has protected me from many slip-ups.

I've got these chaps coming for $40--about half what my dealer wanted for the Stihl-branded ones. I bought the "short" 35-inch ones, as I have a 27" inseam and am only 5'6.

I got a little something myself coming in, it’s something I’ve always wanted one since it’s solid, it’s not a flashlight but still a light, kinda like one of those snap stick all the kids wear for Halloween, but powered by a AAA battery and more powerful, the nice thing is it’s got three stages, 100%, 25%, and strobe, and in my case not good but since it comes with a lanyard I can wear it around the neck over the back at night or get a carabiner and hook it to a belt loop, they say that they can be seen up to a mile away, thus why I went with the green,, suppose to be the brightest beside the white, I didn’t think red was the good unless I’m going undercover in some military co-op and need to read a map, so definitely thought green! Anyway here’s a pic of what’s coming,,

Nice ones! I have mine from Oregon and they are perfect for working and being able to take them off and continue with other stuff

I love it, I didn’t want the special cr123 but just something simple, so a aaa, the one thing I really would like is a clicker switch, supposedly all diff ends fit? I figured by just putting it on flash with a carabiner on my belt loop, yet that thing is so bright at night the Mrs was complaining so I just put it on 25% and let it hang, as it swings side to side which I really don’t feel since it’s so light weight! Anyway, the switch is the only thing that I’m not to thrilled of, if it was a clicker I think it would be perfect, cause then I could hook it to my belt loop then just click, cause I can’t look at it while it flashes and it’s so sensitive and you don’t have to turn it all the way but just lightly push the switch and it’s already on the flash when I wanted it on 25%

Glad to hear.  I’m surprised yours didn’t come with a clicker.  Mine came with a push button adapter that could be swapped out.  I got the CR123 because many of my flashlights are CR123 so I have a lot of them.

Two assorted lots from an eBay seller.

Leatherman Fuse and Squirt P4. Been wanting a lighter, and thinner LM more or less for around the house type stuff, but was a full-size tool with full-size pliers. Mini Tool doesn't have enough tools, Leap sucks, and the PST and PST II aren't really high in the ergonomics category. My Rebar is somewhat too heavy for pocket carry, and doesn't' have scissors.  But, just now looking at the encyclopedia here,  I didn't realize it was not a whole lot thinner (couple millimeters) and lighter (eight-tenths of an ounce) than my Rebar which has more tools, three to be exact.    I like the P4 much better than the PS4, as instead of those unreliable scissors, you've got a handy awl and fine screwdriver.

Assorted lot. There is one unusual "safety" linesman's knife by a company called MADI, and two Coast (sort of decent) that I am keeping, the rest are POS. These are not only to be loaners, but another forum runs a POS exchange a couple times a year in which we send each other a bunch of somewhat low-value knives. I don't own very many, and of those I do own, I can't conciously give them to someone else because they are so bad. The linesman's knife is an enigma. My Granddad, and many other retired and current miners explain that when they stripped cable, they needed to use the tip of their hawkbills. Looking at the product description on the manufacturer's website, I don't get how they are doing it with that blade shape. It looks more like something for emergency use.  Guess I need to talk to a couple of my neighbors, one is a retired electrical engineer with Appalachian Power, the other currently working as a lineman for Verizon.

Nice grab Cody.  I am a big fan of the P4.  Its been a companion for a long while now and while little its helped me out quite a bit.  I don't push it as much as I used to but there are times.........

Thanks Wspeed and Surge. I ordered the red one. Unusually the best shipping option was free, and the tool is inexpensive as well. If the scissors are half decent it is worth it.

NIB Schrade USA 834UH "Trailmaster" for under $30. I think this is a late '80s knife. Gonna have to find a user version soon as well. But provided, that's basically what a 34OT is (except for being carbon steel, not stainless like the UH) and I already own a few of them.

Nice knife cody6268  :tu:

I'm intrigued by the "guaranteed against loss" stated on the box  How on earth does that work  :dunno:

I think that as long as you sent in a form affixed to the bottom of the green certificate within ten days of buying the knife, that if you lost it within one year of purchase, and sent in the other half of the form, you would get a new knife. Not necessarily the best business decision if you ask me...

Morakniv Bushcraft. While I have the Companion, it is more or less used for food-type tasks and fishing (which replaced a Bahco-branded Clipper I really beat up when I was 18-20). It's the High-Vis model with the stainless steel standard-thickness blade. I figure for work, the 3.2mm blade of the Bushcraft will make it heavier-duty and a better chopper, with tougher carbon steel, all the while being an easier to carry knife than the Kabar/MK II FIghting Knife I typically carry with me in the woods. Often, I find myself using my knife to hack myself out of a thicket, so the steel has to be quite tough. And, it's got that perfectly sized (just over 4") blade as well.

My only problem is the spine. My Eldris has the same sharp unpolished spine for striking a fire steel, and it's somewhat uncomfortable to use. My Basic and Robust--rounded, unfinished.  Companion--finished, rounded.
