Thanks all for the birthday wishes.  The weather finally cooperated and electricity/internet restored around 10pm so dinner and movies happened.

I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Christmas.

I just got home so haven’t had an opportunity to read through all the posts, but will soon.

Day 25

For me the day was spent with the in-laws.  The Spirit’s serrated blade was perfect for opening presents.  The Yeoman’s magnifying glass helped read some information on a gift.

DAY 25

First things first. I hope this finds you in rude health and you've awl had a great day  :tu:

As usual for me (and others) it was a normal work day  ::)
I got home late afternoon to a sumptuous feast, courtesy of Mrs Surge. Including a flaming Christmas pud

However, just to annoy GF here's a shot of the FX with one of my presents (some Welsh Gold  )

Merry Christmas from the house of Surge to you, and yours
Merry Christmas to you also.  I always appreciated those who took one for the team and worked on holidays so others could have time with family and enjoy.

Day 25

The most used part of my EDC today were the bottle openers!

(And the Cinder to open some packages)

Bottle opening is a great use

Day 26

After a big day yesterday think I’ll be taking it pretty easy today. Been for a good long walk with Coco so ubiquitous photos alert :pok:

Happy yet tired.  Great pic

Day 25: Merry Christmas everyone!  Used the orange peeler to remove a trim screw on my pickup.  Used the small blade of the Exec to cut a lot of wrapping paper tape today!
Good use and Merry Christmas to you too.

Merry Christmas y'awl.

Day 25
The mountaineer with my morning paper and coffee. I really wanted to share that picture from today's front page of the Christmas tree at the beach on Los Olas surrounded by the palm trees. The caption says it is going to be 60 degrees (15.556 C) today. Laugh if you must, but that is very nearly parka weather for me. Well, at least a sweater.>:D
Nice pic.  I would love some 60s weather but can understand it is all a matter of what you are used to.

Day 25

(Image removed from quote.)
I didn't know "Angels with even filthier souls" was actually a fake film within home alone, until very recently.  But man, that was iconic! :D

(Image removed from quote.)
Ate at Parent's home and was having a good time hanging out with family, we end up having homemade Korean BBQ beef for dinner.  Mountaineer didn't do any heavy lifting in the food prep, but the beef turn out to be slightly chewier that usual, so it did help to slice down in bite sizes.
Dinner looks good.

Home Alone is a great Christmas movie.

Day 25:
Christmas Day, heavy lifting of the day was checking tire pressure’s on wife’s Kadjar - from the cabin. Guppie tagged along:

Sometimes automation is nice

Merry Christmas you all !
Day 25
No much tool actions today.
The Spirit helped attaching an action cam thingy to my bike helmet. A present from our daughter, so I can record my crashes  :P
Nice gift.  Definitely be careful when riding and hopefully it doesn’t get to record too much excitement

Hello day 25. .
Santa brought me a flat pack LandRover that required some assembly.
Wave used to help ease out the parts. .

Nice little gift and project.

day 25: well opening things was mostly on today's schedule. best thing to open - cookies

2020-12-25_08-07-48
Cookies are always nice.  The MiL went overboard on making cookies, so I was sent home with plenty.

Day 25
Merry Christmas!
No EDC use today.
As a serial hobbyist I often make some of my Christmas presents.
For a friend who is a Greek and Latin teacher I made a ring out of a CO2 cannister and a Greek coin.

The clipper helped me with this one -lighting the torch used to anneal the can.
Nice work.  Homemade gifts are so nice and thoughtful.

I'm surprised how often I had to use the magnifier myself till now. Maybe I should give the Yeoman another try for my EDC  :like:

Day 26
Wanted to replace a light bulb today and the new LED replacement made a high frequency noise that was just too annoying  ::)

Used the Spirits can opener to carefully pop open the bulb...

This loosely wound coil should be the culprit...

A bit of hot-glue should stop it from vibrating...

I couldn't use the Spirit to hold up the bulb for soldering, so a different tool was used...

The Swisscard magnifier helped to check the soldering...

Made in Germany?! Hmmm....

The result was a less noisy bulb, but still buzzing happy  :-\ I'll have to save this one for the shed or else.

Day 27

For whatever reason Imgur is acting up right now and can't upload any photo, so gonna directly upload onto forum for now.  Used the Mountaineer mainly for all the food chores today.  It's interesting despite how convenient is the a modern folder, I still resort to using my SAK first and foremost.  It's probably a habitual thing--just like even I now carry two dedicated flashlights, sometimes I still grab and phone and use the led onboard for lighting.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
