Despite the small mark, it is a nice job.
I taped it many times. It just happened... under the awl is scratched too from it closing. I'm sure there's more to come. I'd usually get disappointed over that but I knew going in it may not come out perfect. It is what it is.

Day 6

Did some work on the car, the FX didn't get anything to do though. Just hanging out below the hood.

Scissors opened a package of bacon later

Day 6
Used the knife to open some sausage and the scissors to open a bag of hot pepper shredded cheese.  My contribution to the wife’s sausage balls.

Also, used the saw to trim Fisher’s Bully and knife to open a snack

Day 6
The Farmer X hasn't seen much work today (neither have I!) It opened a package I forgot about yesterday, and it cut some awkwardly-placed sizing labels out of some new cycling gloves (it's hard enough for me to find normal gloves that fit, never mind cycling gloves. Apparently the average cyclist has tiny doll hands.)

Here is a picture of the Fx with today's real star: my Park Tool MT-1. It's my favourite just-the-basics bike tool, and today it helped me replace my bottle cage, tune my brakes, adjust my saddle, and tighten my shoe cleats.

Note the Presta valve cap on the end of the MT-1. This is to keep the slot screwdriver tip from stabbing holes in my pocket.

Or my leg, for that matter.

          Learned that the hard way.

Then the Kuwahara Eclipse, the MT-1, and the Fx went on a ride together. I did all the work for them. Boy, did I let myself get out of shape over the last year.

End: Day 6

Kingfisher feather? Fantastic find - never seen one myself, nice find! :like: :like:

Indeed. I collect feathers in an album.
The feather Ive found really is a kingfisher feather, belongs to its tail. See pic in link below.  :ahhh

Day 6 Addendum:
No pictures, but the Fx's awl helped pop out the spent 2032 batteries in my bicycle's cadence and speed sensors. I didn't realize neither were working until a few minutes into today's ride. That's what I get for leaving the Kuwahara chained up in the box of my pickup for a few weeks at -30° to -35°C.

Day 7.

Washing machine repair day.
Doorseal was damaged, so I ordered a new one, arrived yesterday.
Needed some other tools, FX was a helper but couldnt do the job alone. (aka Torx screws and pliers)
Remove upper cover, remove control panel, remove spring loaded wire that holds the seal to the front cover, remove front cover, disconnect seal from detergent compartment, remove another spring, remove seal.

And then everything in the reverse order again. Yay.
Machine is up to go and the Mrs. is happy.  :multi:

. Thanks for sharing that link - fascinating! I remember reading somewhere that kingfisher feathers produce colour by refraction rather than reflection making them largely pigment free - it must be amazing to see a feather close up! :tu:

Day 7

When I got back from my early morning ride (wow it was cold - should have put overshoes on  still, at least it was dry!) I was surprised to see an Amazon package on the doorstep - I do feel sorry for the couriers being expected to work on a Sunday, I’d have been quite content to wait till a weekday for delivery especially as I always tick the free delivery option. FX main blade made short work of the packaging (I know there’s a tab, but that wouldn’t provide work for a handy tool would it?!).

Yep, and way cheaper than calling in the repair service. Seal cost me 30€ and an hour of time, otherwise it would have been three digits.
Some parts are easy to repair if you have basic tools and some time. There are plenty of repair videos on youtube and spare parts stores all over the web.
Machine is 8 years old, hope will serve some more.

Opening tabs don’t always work, so your better using the knife from the start

Cool stove and pic, Ben.

I think the standard challenge require a pic of one of your Vic FX's everyday. It might be a good idea to post an extra pic of your FX just to be safe.....and we awl-ways enjoy a pic of a SAK.  :D

Day 7
New belt hole.

Measure once, cut once!

My mark is slightly off-centre, but I can compensate when I actually start reaming.

Done!

The new hole is a little larger than the originals, but at least it's nice and even.

End: Day 7

Some kind of candy. Roughly banana-shaped, don't really taste like bananas.
