DAY 6
Early shift today and stuck behind a desk doing case papers and witness statements  :crash:

The OHT offered moral support with a coffee  :tu:
They don't like it up 'em!

Why does Leatherman not advertise this?  I don't need a fancy set of pliers, but a fancy set of pliers that makes coffee?  I'm in.

Day 6 of 30

Got out the small ruler/file today :D Not much you can measure with at that size :dunno: The file is there and I guess better than nothing but it is almost nothing  :D I guess you can also use it as a flat driver  Probably better st that than the other functions  :D

A little surprised the chisel grounded serrated portion didn't get destroyed by the pull thru, they tend to be thinner and more delicate than usual PE.
 :hatsoff: :D
I only sharpened the straight edge portion of the blade on the carbide pull through sharpener.  I have a pocket size sharpening rod that comes to a point, so it is good for honing serrations, and will use that... as soon as I can find it.

Day 6

It almost made its mark on my palm today. I was trying to use it as needle nose pliers and had to grip it near the end of the handles. The tip slipped off of the item I was trying to grip and the handles snapped shut. The locking tab pinched me. Fortunately for me, my skin on my palm slipped out before the handles fully closed.

I agree with Cody that the pliers are very robust for a MT. But those handles don't work for me at all  :bnghd:

That ruler will be quite helpful in judging if a piece of lumber is 3/4" thick or 1-1/2" thick  :tu:

By the way, don't know if you are aware of this, but the NXT comes in BO:

I think we both know what has to happen now  :pok:

Yeah, but with that ruler there will never be any hesistation on deciding if that piece of lumber is a 1"×4" or a 2"x4". Why take a chance on making that mistake? The ruler can make that determination for you   :D

By the way, if you are lucky no one will question why you pulled out the ruler while sitting in your truck

I'm really liking the hook blade mod. Just need to sharpen it some.

Nevermind.

Day 6; opened up a Camillus timber scribe. Always wanted one of these; but am surprised at how small it is. I always assumed since they were made for serious use,  these were quite large knives.

Day 6
The Minimaster helped open a box with a couple Classics that will become part of gift boxes to my niece and nephew who are starting college later this month.

It also helped cut some cord for a carry loop on a water bottle.

Now that's a nice idea! I wish I'd had a SAK in college.

Maybe also get them Deluxe Tinkers for any dorm room or apartment repairs?

Or that hammerhead monster that Echotech has?   :D

That kinda reminds me of the LM Free P4.  It too has a 1.2 inch file which I have no idea what to do with it. :dunno:

Maybe some tools are meant to be used with gloves...

I think one of the reasons why I like the small blade on SAK so much is because it's perfect for clam shell opening.  It would be interesting to see how the hook works on that.

Those Classics would be perfect for college students. :tu:   I still remembered having my SAK with me when I went to college, and no one ever seems to question whether it is 'allowed' on campus.  But we sure do live in a very different time now.

My inspiration for the plastic clam shell opening use is the Cut-and-picker blade on my Mini Champ. It works really well at that.

A SAK surely would come in handy, and with all the online ordering kids do nowadays, some kind of unboxing blade would really come in handy.

You mean the orange peeler?  I constantly have the fear that I might ruin the pivot or bend the tool if I force it with a heavy duty clam shell, but it sounds like it is worth a try.  I may do that in some future challenge if the opportunity arises.
