Day 10
Not a lot of use today for the Outrider - Cut a lime, a chip bag, and some seasoning packs.  Opened a couple bottles of beer.
(Image removed from quote.)

That sounds like a great use for the Outrider!  And if your pizza is anything like mine, most of the time you need the blade to finish the incomplete slicing.

111mm Day 10:

A little frosty outside this morning....

A cold frosty one, later, with some playoff football.....

Yes; the cap lifter works well, as you'd expect.

Day 11

I keep all my sparkers in a stationary case, but that many tiny things do not sit well in such a big compartment.
So I cut up some bottoms of jaffa cake boxes and made little divider compartments. Much better organized and saved on space.

I wouldn't mind a half stop, to be honest.  I'm finding that my need for a OHO blade is inversely proportional to the blade length I need.  What I mean is...  I find the Skeletool blade more suitable for quick tasks than the OH Trekker blade.   :pommel:
Small OHO on a MT/SAK...Hmmm, have you considered looking into the LM T4?  I tried it in a store, never like it, but the OHO is indeed handy.

Nice pics comis! :like: :tu: :tu:

Thanks all  :tu:

Day 10  Made another box for my Niece, Tradesman helped along the way

(Image removed from quote.)
Does the cover pivot out where the dots are?  Or from the narrow end?

Great shots guys!
Comis I love your Iceland pics! We were there as a layover on our way to Berlin a few years ago, we loved it. I have a photo I took of that sculpture I thought was pretty good, but that one with the Northern lights, that’s next level! I dragged my wife out there to get a photo of the house where Reagan & Gorbachev had their summit.
Thanks for the kind words, I stood there literally for 5-6 hours, only to film that 20-30 seconds of glory.  That was a pretty popular tourist spot, but it was a cold night and most people just came and went.  It's pretty cool you guys went to the former British Consulate to check it out, I guess most would probably walk the other way to the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre. :tu:

Day 10
The outrider with my afternoon smoke and a handful of wasp galls I've been picking up in the yard.  I found an interesting article on making ink from wasp galls.  As a historian I get a kick out of this sort of thing.  Might have to try it out.
https://www.huntington.org/verso/2019/05/making-ink-oak-galls
I clicked onto that link, pretty fascinating!  Reading stuff like this always put things in prospective, and am always thank you for all the modern convenience we have.

Day 11:

Went with a bit "different" SAK; the Master RT. Produced in 2010 only for the 125th anniversary's "On the Road Collection" it's not really that common.  And, I came upon it by accident. Well, I didn't know it existed until poking around the SAKWiki when I had better stuff to do.    Back in December of 2016; I ordered a cheap 111mm Soldier from a retailer of "prepper" supplied in NC who, for about a year or two; also sold secondhand knives on the website; and older/rarer SAKs often popped up cheap. This one was $10.  Got my Voyageur (Cellidor handles with T&T however) from them for $10 as well.  This was to be a gift for a buddy of mine. Well, they took forever to ship it; as well as an extended break. It was probably mid January before FedEx dropped it off at my place. Well, I first noticed the knife was blue-gray. Soldiers are OD Green. I first said to myself; "Could this be a Master RT?"; and then I opened up the Ziploc bag, to discover well, that's what it was. This put me in a pickle. One, I received the wrong item; and kinda felt indebted to return it; notify incorrect item. But, I wanted this more than what I was supposed to get (I already have a 2015 Soldier, but I lost it), and I'd also have to find another knife for that buddy. I ended up giving him a 1980s Tinker Small with Caterpillar inlay (he ran their equipment for nearly 40 years in the mines) that had never been carried or used, and was still in the box.   When I was in a mechatronics program at the local community college (where I met this guy); I chose this knife as my carry. A wood saw was quite useless outside of the Back 40. But, a metal file often came in handy, and the OHO serrated blade ate rubber tubing and packaging for lunch.

(Image removed from quote.)

I had to remove the stub of a key that had busted off in a lock (which was still on my keys)  in order to replace it with the key from the new lockset.  I used the big screwdriver for opening up the split ring, and tried to use the file to cut through the busted key, since I couldn't get it off.  Ended up using my SwissTool cutters to cut one part of the keyring hole in the key away, and breaking the key off the ring by twisting the top of the keyring hole with the pliers. SwissTools have the best pliers shape, and best tool layout, but they're miserable with gloves on, and I feel adding that second cutter for stranded wire was stupid.   I can't wait until the MXBS OHO Spirit shows up in the US market. Also cut off the sprung split ring that originally held on my Olight i1R before I put it on the carabiner by itself with a bigger split ring.

111mm Challenge Day 11 by cody6268, on Flickr

Nice story behind the RT, for that, I gonna pull mine out too for play!

And I bet you definitely gonna love the MXBS on the new Spirit, it really makes it that much more versatile.  My only wish is them keeping the wood saw, and update the scissors with a regular 91mm scissors, that's would be a be all and end all Spirit for me.

Day 11

Oh well

I looked at the box with my new gas soldering iron and wondered why is there no iron tip cleaning sponge. Went to my old electrical soldering iron, took the one I have there and decided to cut it to the size of the chamber in a new box.

Used can opener to pull some weird rag out of the slot first

Then trimmed an old sponge with scissors

To my huge surprise that weird rag turned out to be a perfect tip cleaning sponge after I decided to put some water on it as an experiment

Oh well, now I have two sponges

Dream. Wish. Leave nothing undone. Repeat.

OH Forester on trucks bedside to measure fresh snow:

Getting close to 6 inches overnight I’d say. There should be  more coming with a cold front to follow so winter proper might’ve arrived :)
