DAY 17

Burst pipe, rolling blackouts, downed powerline... Texas is going through some stuff right now.

But I have a hand warmer and a N°08!

Day 17

Technically a failure today? I cut my nails with a Classic, I'm sure the Obake is up to the task, but I like my actual fingers the length they are.

Poker Day 17 (follow-up shot):

The Chicken-poblano chili turned out to be quite good. If you asked me, I'd have said it needed a few more Jalapeños, but Mrs Nix liked it as it was served.

The Farmer more than proved itself for this chicken challenge.  :tu:

And very nicely presented too  :like:

Day 18
Another snack picture, although this one made by the wife.
Sidekick helped cut open the package.

The Wave also has been used so far today.  The scissors were used to trim the wick and then the driver to change the flint and install a gasket that is suppose to help decrease evaporation.

Hope the gasket works, I stopped carrying my Zippo's because they where always empty when needed.

Pokey has enjoyed me being home during the Snowpocalypse. I’m back to work tomorrow.  So, I am enjoying a leisurely morning with my best friend, coffee, and this butterscotch micarta Zulu.

Most of the time I use a butane insert, which work really well, but I figured I would try this out for another option..

Sunbathing at -29 C:

Well, it was -29 in the morning, by the time I took the photo it was some -24 only.
In any case, coldest day in some 5 - 6 years

Yes. I have had a couple Thunderbird inserts for a few years and they are still working well.  The Zippo butane inserts are newer but also seem to be good.
