I like that Farmer!  :tu:
Thanks, Barry!

Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth ll.
A fitting tribute. :salute:

Carried this mod that I did a while back- I’ve dubbed it the Excursionist.
Neat mod! :tu:

[I'd love to see Vic start manufacturing this style (even if mono colored) as a regular option.
:iagree: More scale options would awlways be good!

Day 19

The SAK Wiki's color palette page has some very interesting information. This Rally is translucent orange; I bought it last year (and probably overpaid some ) before Victorinox trotted out Classic SDs in 30 different color and material combinations. I have to wonder if those additions have driven the prices of older and less common colors (such as translucent orange and translucent yellow) down some.

Day 20, September 20

For some reason, it’s my first time to place a SwissTool beside a 111mm SAK.

Chances are you won't ever see another one of these variants- and not just because it's camouflaged!

This version of the Trekker/Trailmaster model was a prototype/concept knife that the fine folks at Victorinox were nice enough to give me at SHOT a number of years ago, and I don't know of any others in the wild.  As I am a huge fan of the Trekker/Trailmaster platform, they thought my collection would be a great home for it!

Read more about the Trekker/Trailmaster at SAKWiki.com!  https://sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Trekker

I'm waiting for those orange scales to come back in stock. We were hoping to use them with blue on some Ramblers for groomsman gifts since they're our wedding colors. We've got about 2 months, so I'm not too worried. Yet.

That'd be exciting. Just navy blue though. Orange is more of an accent color on some of the ties, flowers, etc. It does have flamingoes in the lining, so it's at least a little fun.

It's my first time to place a SwissTool beside a 111mm SAK.
I'm thinking that I should acquire a 111mm or three. I was watching a Cowboy, but forgot to bid. Someone did well for their $12.50!

This version of the Trekker/Trailmaster model was a prototype/concept knife that the fine folks at Victorinox were nice enough to give me at SHOT a number of years ago.
:like: Though I think I'd be scared smurfless to carry it.

Day 20

This Pioneer was sent to me by SurgeUK. As good as the SAK Wiki is, it's impractical (and probably impossible) to list the many companies whose logos appear on SAKs...which is part of the fun of collecting them.

Winding down from the events of the past few days, so home a bit earlier.

Today was the turn of the Compact (my only yellow SAK)

Keep up the fantastic work everyone - you're awlsome  :salute:

DAY 18 & 19
Still trying to get caught up… thought I would feature some 58 mm that I carried the past couple days. The first one is an old blue classic SD emblazoned with a silver department of the Air Force logo- notice the nail file has no screwdriver- much preferred.  :tu:

DAY 19
Recently picked this one up at a police auction of confiscated material it was marked as a stainless steel Swiss Army knife. It was exceptionally dirty but I reckoned that it was perhaps not stainless steel and after getting it for a lone bid of $20 took it home cleaned it up a bit and Low and behold it has a Tiffany hallmark of 925 and 750  :o

Nice score on the Tiffany! One of those is on my "nice, but probably not happening" list.

Day 20

This Hiker is my longest serving SAK. I got it around 12 or 13 in the Scouts. It's successfully survived all the dumb things Boy Scouts do to their knives, as well as becoming my designated "stupid stuff SAK" with only a little bend in the blade tip and one slightly loose scale. To date, the worst abuse it's suffered is getting whacked with a hammer to make a big enough gap with the bottle opener to wedge in a full size prybar. It's going to outlive me.

Once upon a time, this was the thickest Delemont SAK available on local retail. I guess it was for that reason alone that I bought this one.

As good as the SAK Wiki is, it's impractical (and probably impossible) to list the many companies whose logos appear on SAKs...which is part of the fun of collecting them.
Yes please don't do that as your next Wiki project!  :pok:     :o      :twak:   As you say many pages would be screenfuls long.

We did put a comment to this effect (ie dozens of custom variations) at the bottom of the Classics variations  section, we also mention it in the SwissCard page.

I guess we could put a similar comment in the other pages where there are many custom models made eg The Pioneer.

For the Wiki we should try and stick to Victorinox/Wenger produced standard models and their variations ..... also the Victorinox/Wenger initiated special editions (eg Annual Alox, Christmas, Swiss Spirit, Damascus etc)

There are a few exceptions to this rule - eg The VSACKS page - But that is a bit special ..... and the SOSAK page - But that is/was us !!!

Day 21

Climbers today!  :climber:

One Stayglo and one ad knife (with the shield and logo on the back combo, the least common arrangement I think?) Not much to say about Climbers that haven't been said. I'm working on getting the scales on the glow a more charged. I think they should have a little more kick than that. I got it second hand and it hasn't gotten much light since I've had it.

I guess we could put a similar comment in the other pages where there are many custom models made eg The Pioneer.
The page on the Wenger Viking has the below statement:

Quote
It is often used as an advertising imprint model for company marketing.

And don't worry about me creating such a page; such an effort would drive me straight to the nut-house! But I have given some thought to creating a page for the Wounded Warrior Project SAKs.

As usual, some great stuff from awl! :tu:

Day 21

Another day, another Rally. This one shows pretty well why I  tend not to carry SAKs with white scales and/or printed logos. It'll be going off for new scales and a new blade eventually...
