Day 18

Pulled out my Wenger Spotlight this evening.  I swapped out the bulb for an LED.  It's bright enough now to help you find things under your desk but it can't hold a candle to other smaller packaged flashlights.  Still pretty cool that I was able to put it back into service.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

I had drilled a hole on the cap of my Coast HP1 for a lanyard, but this meant the lanyard loop would interfere with the tailstand feature.
So I drilled a second one. And now I can have tjree-strand paracord and still have the light stand perfectly, instead of having that thin lanyard and still be wobbly.

That looks kinda cool. How functional is it?
1,800 lumens is probably overkil for my needs, but that's another I'll check out.
the bezel is pretty cool- as far as its functionality it would definitely mess someone up if used as a strike bezel because the protrusions are quite sharp- like little miniature knives- so i'm careful when grabbing it out of my pocket. the thing i like most about the bezel is that it's removable and reversible as it screws off and can be screwed on in the reverse position. i got mine for $30 at countycomm it's a small light and runs on an included 14500 rechargeable battery.

as far as the red rook i got that one at reylight.net during a half price sale which i thought was a good deal not sure i would pay full price for one though even though it's a decent little light. it ships from China so it can take about three weeks to get to the US. But Rey is a good guy and great to do business with.
that's a nice setup you've got there
cheers my friend

While I like the Mag-Lites for their nostalgia factor (one was nearly always on my belt during my two deployments), I have to admit they've been outclassed. The LumiTact was a gift from Mrs. FX. Though it's a little much for urban carry, it'll stay with me, maybe in a camping kit. My favorites and most frequent users are the Olight and the Streamlight. I have to wonder how long the Olight's battery can hang on.

More great stuff, y'awl! :tu:

That's gonna be one of my favorite host to mod a led in back in the days.  So beefy, it's near indestructable and also dense enought to dissapate heat. :tu:

This Fenix LD02 light has been out for a while now, but I just got it somewhat recently.  Pretty good construction and milling, but how I wish they could use better led with higher CRI and better optics.  The color of the led is warm, but not all warm colored led means high CRI.

The original beamshot, not really my cup of tea per se:

After DC-fix semi-transparent application, the camera may not do the justice.  But it is still quite easy to tell how much the beamshot has been improved.

Day 18
The next light I got maybe 7 or 8 years back was a SF G2ZX,which I gave to my son on his 21st b/day.
I then got a SF 6P in 2017,which was a backup for my L2.
I decided to use it as a "temporary" WML on my T56 last year, still haven't replaced it with a dedicated WML.
L2 for company

Forgot to post yesterday’s pic

Day 18
One of Hank’s lights - DW4

Day 19
How many is too many lights to have on you at one time? 5?
Mateminco CSF-04 on keys
Reylight Pineapple Mini in pocket
Mateminco CSF -06 on backpack strap
HDS Rotary backpack quick access pocket
Nitecore NU25 inside backpack in “just in case” pouch

At least it wasn’t 5 knifes, like when I entered a hospital security checkpoint and that was the first notification I received that they had a no knife/blade policy.

What a great idea. If any representatives for flashlight manufacturers were reading, I hope they stood up and took notice!  :tu:

Thank you, Kind Sir! :hatsoff:

I'd feel overloaded with two. And hospital security is a good example of why I'm glad I pared down my carry. When Mrs. FX was in the ER, I had to hide my Opinel No. 6 and lighter before I passed through.

More great stuff, y'awl! :2tu: I hope to get some action shots soon.

I probably wouldn’t be found to be carrying more than three (primary, backup, and headlamp) myself, but you do you.

Day 20

Liking the Coast HP1 more and more. There's something about the diameter and length. Small enough for edc, big enough to use, and just two modes: on and off.

Day 19

I brought the E5 along with us, since being away with only rechargeables felt a little risky. Someone was asking earlier, so here's the mode switch in action. 3 clicks on the top button while in basic "moonlight" mode switches between AAA and Li-Po.

Green light for Li-Po

Blue for AAA

Just two modes: on and off.
That's what I like about the Streamlight Stylus Pro. It does take a pretty firm press of the button for steady on, though.

Being away with only rechargeables felt a little risky.

Used the Aurora to charge the Angel Eye, since it has GITD but UV light. A brief charge (less than a minute) is enough to keep a dim glow throughout the night to grab to head to the bathroom or whatever.
