Will they attack the Leatherman forum in retaliation?  Have I fired the first shot of a long-brewing war :ahhh >:D
It wouldn't be much of a war. Leatherman makes surfing tools and post videos of doing the harlem shake on youtube.

A funny little story behind my latest acquisitions. I recently picked up a Small Tinker and a 84mm Golfer on the 'bay. I got them in this afternoon and was playing with them when the wife walked in after her usual Saturday antique/flea market run. She said she 'had a present' for me. She hands me a knife...and not just any knife...another 84mm Golfer! This one was in better condition than the one I picked up on eBay.

I nearly flipped my wig over it, and while I was playing with it, she mentioned that they had a couple more Swiss knives at the antique store where she bought mine. She also added that one was 'pretty much identical' to the one she bought. Needless to say, we double timed it back to the store. One of the leftovers was a Rally in rough shape...but the other? Yet another 84mm Golfer! This one's a bit on the dirty side, but it'll clean up nicely. Score!

Haha, can't argue with that considering their one piece tools lately.  Didn't know about the video though.

Nice scores there jrp316 :tu:

Hmmmm...ya know, the Tomo gives me a couple of ideas for mods. I may have to pick up a couple of those to see what I can do with 'em.

Yep, that's the latest model SI, with the white box that's marked as "Swiss Army 70." It has the same red tint on the shield as current Vic shields, and the bail is of a thinner gauge wire and is loose in the rivet. Also, the awl is a standard Vic alox awl.

The top knife is a Victorinox Jetsetter 2, which features a cuticle tool rather than a blade, for plane travel. It's one of those tools that are typically only available as a promotional item.

The second is a German Spartan Scenic Tourist knife for Oberammergau, a small town near Munich noted for its annual Easter 'Passion Play'. Most of the scenic knives feature photos of their locale; this one has a painting.

Cool SAK Colt :tu:  Does it have Plus scales, or does the Stayglow not allow for that?

Replace the nail file with the combo tool on this one.

The original mod had the saw and the vic combo tool, but the snap wasn't quite right with the vic part and I ditched the saw.

No Plus scales, but I edc a pen anyways, the scales have a cool feel to them but I think the Vic shield will wear down or off. It is painted on. I dig it though, been wanting a compact for a long time.

I like it , eliminates having to carry a pocket wrench, that's the perfect urban edc . Why are most mods Victorinox ? I think this is the first Wenger mod I have seen.

I carry a pen too (at work mostly), so I wouldn't always need Plus scales, but I like them.  I've been interested in getting a Stayglow SAK just to check that out, and I read on here that the shield does wear off over time.  The Compact is a good, basic SAK though.  To be honest, it probably has all I really need in a SAK, but I like having some extras on mine :D

Yes, we don't see many Wenger mods at all. When I started doing this one there was only one mod I could find in the whole forum at the time. There were a few since then though, Rahmed (who hasn't been active in some time though but did good work), PTRSAK, Rick and a few others have used wenger parts in Vic mods and PTRSAK did a few nice Wenger ones. It's actually easier to mod a Wenger as you pin the rivets to the outer liners and don't have to worry about the bushings or anything as the scales attach to the liners themselves. The problem though is parts. In most places Wengers are pricier than Vics and some models are disco'd or not available everywhere. For instance I have to order parts from the US and even though it's mostly used parts I already have about a $90 invested in this mod in parts+shipping alone.

I like that bottom one alot.  I'd like to turn my 557 in that.  Will the combo tool work?

where did you find that color scale?

Christmas came early this year!

Wenger United Woods. A beautiful set of knives, though the red EVO S557 should have been the EVOwood version.

I agree.  That red one does look kind of out of place in that set, which is beautiful by the way :tu:
