Day 1 Update

Lots of use for my EDC today:

Scissors to cut leather string
(Image removed from quote.)

Pin to clear the clogged leather stain bottle
(Image removed from quote.)

Pliers to remove a thorn from a dog paw
(Image removed from quote.)
Handyman and Vic wrench worked together to install the Christmas lights:

Pliers to get a screw out of the catch-all-screws jar, so I didn't have to dump it
(Image removed from quote.)

Pliers removed tag from the outside power plug housing, so i could route a cable through while keeping it close to protect from snow.
(Image removed from quote.)
Did one side first, but then i realized i couldn't bend the cable enough to make it fit. So the second one had to be removed as well. That one did not budge of course, so the Knipex cutter had to help out
(Image removed from quote.)

Awl to make a pilot hole
(Image removed from quote.)

Bit wrench took care of the screw. For some reason the can opener had a hard time with that particular screw
(Image removed from quote.)
Finished setup. I won't cut the zip tie, as I want to reuse it after Christmas  :tu:
(Image removed from quote.)

Also used the large blade of the Handyman to open a new bag of dog food. Enough uses for a whole week in one day  :salute:

Great job Sir  :like:
It's situations like that we're waiting for impatiently to prove to the missus that all that stuff is useful after all  :D

Funny how a millimetre in thickness can make a difference. How useable do you find is the light?

In practice runs, in close-quarters scenarios, the light has been surprisingly effective.   :tu:

Hopefully, we'll see how it does in an actual field operation during the challenge.....

Day 1
So far today the Yeoman helped open up breakfast and replace an air filter.

I used the flashlight to find something under a cabinet.

So, no real use today (not anything, really  :dunno: )
With that in mind, here's a shot of the PST with Chris - Moose (gedditt  :pok: , nevermind  )

Cheers all and Happy EDC in DEC

Changed the MP-400 for the MP-600
(I was waiting a excuse to carry the MP600).

Sounds like a good change.
Day 1 - supplementary entry:
SwissCard helping to free my latest:
(Image removed from quote.)

A Super Tinker to be nearby when I’m reading the spanking new Macgyver book finally out

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Macgyver book?  I think I need to look into this

Day 1: Cutting open a pumpkin snack bar for breakfast.  I'm in the December Weight Loss Challenge too  :D
Looks like a good way to start the day
Today I used my Victorinox Ranger scissors to cut some tape to fix a name plate on my workstation.

Used the GDC belt tool to scrap the old tape on the desk

Opened some biscuits and coffee packet for a small break.(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)

Nice snack and use
Day 01
Used my watch to track my lunch break time.
Surprisingly satisfying compared to using a phone. Just a press of a button...  ;)

Also used the Vic. Executive for my nails (no  pics taken).
Nice watch
Day 1

Oatmeal time  :D

(Image removed from quote.)
I love oatmeal, although I don’t usually put fruit in mine, may have to try it.
Very sorry for the extremely late entry, I had almost forgotten about this challenge, was and still am caught up in final examinations but I will try my best

A quick rundown of my extremely minimal, ultra urban EDC
1. Phone(Represented by the phone cover)
2. Face mask
3. Sanitizer
4. Dental Floss
5. Lip balm
6. Old Style Traditional Wallet
7. Earphones
8. 32 GB onedrive
9. Victorinox Explorer
10. House keys

Don't want to raise too much attention while travelling around and majority of tools and instruments I need are part of my Dental kit anyway so I try to stick to a minimal EDC. I have ordered a small flashlight but it is yet to arrive so I must start the challenge without it

Sorry for the lack of interesting things and any kind of photography skills in the pictures I post.

A picture of my EDC with a human skull for comparison

And very conveniently I received a package of a garlic crusher to cut open with my trusty Explorer on the first day

Also totally forgot about my watch (Old Timex Mariner)
Looks like a nice selection.

Day 01
Ok, This is it for as long as I can stand it.  I've pared down to the minimum and decided that my EDC is only what's in my pockets.  I decided I wanted to try to carry something I haven't carried in years just to be different.  I am, However, a creature of habit and I standardized years ago and was happy with a Swiss Champ, Spirit and the Myerchin rigging knife.  Looking at my selection of knives and tools it took me 40 minutes to decide which I should carry this month.  I've gone with the Vic Mountaineer and Leatherman Sidekick.  No third knife because the Leatherman is one hand and outside opening. I still have a file, a saw, scissors, and the T&T. These are two tools that don't have a lot of redundancy and are considerably lighter than my usual carry. The items in my bag are vehicle and work carry which doesn't count in this challenge as I understand it.  I don't know how long I can hold out without my usual tools because I'm already sweating and I've got the shakes. Other items are money clip, notepad, pen, watch, wallet, phone, pipe knife and lighter, and flashlight.  I usually have some paper towels or a napkin or two with me as well but I didn't include that in the picture. Also not pictured is keys because that depends on which vehicle I need to drive.
You are definitely challenging yourself, swapping out both of your normal carry tools.

Day 2

This morning’s 7am dog walk, (some items still in my pockets), keep the shorts loaded and change into them when I leave the house…utility shorts! is that a business opportunity :dunno:

Sticks are more interesting apparently

Don’t you know sticks are one of the most interesting non-living things outside

I will also be interested in how the light performs for you.  I usually find that day-to-day tasks don’t require a lot of brightness but in small lights like that the runtime may be short.

Thanks.  With the Yeoman being my favorite SAK, I’ve been searching for the perfect scales for it.   I think I have them now.  Although, my other Yeoman’s WWP Adaptive Sports scales are right up their.

It's been a long while since I carry a one hand opening folder, I almost forgotten how convenient this is.  Cutting some sandpaper for some home improvement.
Also, used the Field Book and pen to record my daily exercise and plans for the weight loss challenge.

Here's me bringing up the rear with just a vanity pic for Day 2.  The smaller blade is my favorite on all of my Vic's.  I always keep the main blade in reserve.  When I worked retail many years ago, I got into the habit of opening boxes with the small blade because of less risk of damaging the contents.

Day 02

The MP-600 on duty today.
Since yesterday this boy is in my belt. The weight diference from the MP400 is noticeable, but is not a problem. I'm liking this big boy!

First It was my coffee partner in this rainy morning.

And helped to desassembly the seat of two pressure safety valves to a small test.
