Day 23:

Made a grilled ham, cheese, and pickle sammie for me lunch. The Rangergrip cut the delicacy open so I could sauce it liberally with the good stuff.   :D

Great looking sammich!!!  :like:

The Delemont Challenge GAW Pt 2
It’s been a great challenge so far and I’m sure as we head into the final week there’ll be even more excellent posts, pics and Delemonts to entertain us, thanks everyone  :hatsoff: :salute:

As previously hinted we’re having another Delemont GAW, this time just for challengers  :tu:  :woohoo:

You’re all automatically entered and I’ll pick the winner later in the week using the number you entered the challenge with, via random number generator as before.
Not everyone who signed up has actually taken part so they’ll be removed from the list, closest wins

The prize is this lovely EvoWood 10 with walnut scales

(Image removed from quote.)
(Image removed from quote.)

That is indeed a lovely looking SAK!! Thank you very much for your generosity and the opportunity Echotech!! I would like to follow Alan K. and increase the odds for others who may not have won a GAW recently. Please remove my name from the GAW list. Thank you again for the awesome opportunity!!!

It's "Weng" night for dinner tonight. As is usually the case, my wife and daughter wanted Asian flavors, and I wanted BBQ. So Wengs two ways it is.

That's so generous of you Echotech!  What a beautiful knife.  I can see the lineage from the original Swiss Officers knife from the 1890s.  Elegance in it's simplicity and functionality.  :like:

Been on the Cheesybite

Wait....so you're telling me there are different varieties of Vegemite?  This changes everything.

It's always amusing to give some one an old RPN calculator and watch as they enter a number, an operator (+-x/), another number and then look increasingly puzzled as they search for the =.
There's just so much in this sentence that I don't understand.

Very generous GAW Echotech!  As the lucky winner of part 1 I'll take my name out, too, spread the love around!

Day 23
I took my '64 with me to my mother-in-laws place out of town today.  Used the cap lifter to open a few beers.  I was wishing I hadn't carried Alox today though - I really could've used a toothpick!  On the other hand, I didn't have a saw with me so I wasn't tempted to use it cutting up some brush for our cooking fire tonight.  Used a chainsaw instead.

Day 23: cut my fingernails.

This is the first semi-realistic Engine 51 anyone ever did. LJN produced a merchandise line for Emergency! in the '70s and among it were three-inch versions of Engine and Squad 51. S51 is bloody expensive, and hard to find. I was given E-51, as it was an extra another collector had, and it had some playwear and slight customization (the silver details). Other companies like Imperial and Ja-Ru used the toolings into the early '90s, but I can't find those too often either.  Hot Wheels/Mattel didn't get the license, and we ended up with today's long-used fire castings Emergency Squad (now sold as Rapid Responder) and Fire Eater. Of course, the setup of the compartments and ladder is all wrong, and wouldn't be rectified until Code 3 Collectibles came along with several LACoFD units and many of the more famous Emergency! rigs (Crown and Ward LaFrance E51 as well as Squad 51 and Station 127/Station 51).

Really just vegemite and cheesybite but you can get all sorts that are vegemite flavoured - chips, chocolate, biscuits …yes believe it

When cheesybite was first released it was known very briefly as…

Was doing some whittling at my desk, and a piece of wood chip went flying and fell in between the keys of my laptop.  The toothpick came in handy to reach down between the keys to guide the piece of wood chip out into the open to scoop it up with the tweezers.  A delicate operation.  Disaster avoided, as not sure how I would have gotten that piece of wood out of there if it slid between the cracks of the keypad and wedged under one of the keys.  The less glamorous tools of the SAK can be invaluable when there is nothing else.

Fooling around at the shop this morning:
You must be an electrician.

The prize is this lovely EvoWood 10 with walnut scales.
Someone will doubtless be very happy to get that pretty SAK!

Day 23

An unexciting day. Just trimmed some stray threads on a bandana. Also attempted to uncork a bottle of wine, but that didn't go too well.

Day 24
October 24

Cleaned the living room lights this morning. Had to use a cap lifter to lift the latch of the folder ladder to unlock it after everything was done.

Day 24.

Back with the awlsome '75 Wenger SI for today.  Love the sharpened edge inside the cap lifter.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Great work everyone!

Day 24

After a busy morning go chores time to settle down to the track cycling world championships with a cold one - SI on opening duties. Thankfully the bail on this one is quite stiff so it doesn’t flop into the path of a closing main blade!

A good English breakfast. Plenty of B vitamins.  Much better than Vegemite.  I tried that stuff once.  It was awful.  Only thing is I thought there was supposed to be Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, eggs, baked beans, toast, and Spam. So where is your Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, eggs and Spam? :pok:

They're very much of their time aren't they? :)  You really have to have a lurid Swatch to go with it.  :pok:

 :D
Swatch!  Good idea, I will remember that! :D :tu:

I can see how it would catch the little guy's eye
:D

Love those scales Comis!  I wish the good folks in Department Delemont would influence the Vic directors to bring some real creativity back into the line up like that!
True!  But recent release of many colorful 58mm Classics do give me a glimpse of hope!

I always wonder about those Roomba thingy, how well do they perform in a long run? :pok:
