Day 1:

I have a modest PST collection by some standards here :nanadance:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Top row L to R: '94 user, '94 Marlboro user, pre-'92 date code (probably 90-92), '94 Marlboro, limited edition 2018,

Bottom row L to R: two Japanese models one with Japan tang stamp, '97 PSTII but unmarked handle, '02 PSTII with manufacturer error unground can opener.

All but one has what I hope/assume is the original case.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I'm going to try to carry each one of these during this challenge.  I'm primarily trying to use my Minichamp as I'm participating that challenge, but these PSTs will serve as compliments when I inevitably need a pair of pliers.

That's a beauty Vicman!  I had the same experience in those days.  My Dad was the only one I came across who had one.
Then again, they weren't cheap in 1984 dollars either!

Thank you, Barry!

 :hatsoff: :hatsoff: to your Dad!

Day 1

On Nov. 4th, 2023 Vicman sent me a photo of his PST.  I had never seen one before and immediately liked it.
I headed over to eBay to check the inventory and this JPST had just been posted for sale.  At the time I didn't know it was a Japan version nor did I know that some have hollow rivets and some don't, this one has them.
This was the first of many that were purchased during that time last year.  :hatsoff:

Very nice, FoBe! :like: :tu: :tu:

Glad I showed you the photo of the PST.

You have acquired some nice PST's during the last year,

Thank you Vicman.

Well, I thought the JPST was my first, but according to my journal, it was my second.  This was my first one.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

We are off to a fantastic start! :woohoo:

Day 1

This was intended to be a Day 0 photo, but circumstances conspired against me. Instead, this glamour shot of my JPST will serve as a Day 1 photo.

Day 1

No belt sheath for me today. Just dropping it straight in the pocket. That's one of the places the PST really shines, relatively light weight and smooth shaped. Ignoring the benefits of pocket clips, it's one of the best for pocket carrying.

Day 1 of 30
Today was the Baptism of my second child.
Was a full day and I didn't have time to take any photo of the tool in the action.
I actually used two time only in the Church. But this a random picture I remember to take there.

Quite a lot of variety in models arleady. I’m seeing 80s, 90s, and 00s models!

I’m going to try to characterize my PSTs during this challenge based on the PST timeline page

https://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=5877.0

And what I know from Legend’s PST book (never got around to ordering that so if anyone has one and can correct my entries that would be appreciated)

I know most of the date range models are more consistent than the predate ranges, but there are some changes to note between production years. Should be fun.

Congratulations on the Baptism of your second child! :)

Thanks VICMAN!
I really love my Leatherman's but nothing beats my  :climber: (VIC) scissors and the Compact is the most compact and useful VIC for me because I always have a Leatherman beside that and I don't need a lot of tools from my VIC except the scissors and the toothpick.
