That's a cool combination of modern & vintage tools!

Although I think that LNF came from a new Climber.

Could of but didn't. The LNF Climber is too perfect to chop up. The LNF came from a broken Huntsman.

Don't panic. You've "relatively" no life and not "absolutely" no life (yet). There is always a chance to make the first step or pass to the second stage of change.
On the other hand, the notion that "life" is just beeing comme il faut, raising kids to get killed for the fatherland somewhere on the globe and raising money to make a trip to some exotic destination is obsolete and silly. Life is what nature intended and since we are blessed with it it would be nice to live it as we wish and not according to the norms of a continuesly manipulated society, as long as we don't harm others. And a few more SAKs or MT never hurt anybody, as far as I know.

A LNF Ct 34.
(Image removed from quote.)

That long nail file seems an excellent tool and it would be very convenient now that we miss the older type of metal/nail file, without asking much space, since it is a back tool.
When and why Victorinox discontinued it?

Model no. 1.3722 (Climber with LNF) is still available new. So either the nail file has not really been discontinued or they made a big final batch a while ago for those Climbers.

I never noticed it! It is commented but not shown in the picture http://www.swiss-knife.com/asp/detail.asp?lan=EN&code=1.3722&shop=SK
That's why it costs more then.
How about the usability of that file?
This is an option over the mountaineer I was thinking about.

You are right, it's not shown in that picture (and other pictures as well). But of course you can see that the scissors are located on the other side than usual.

Personally I have never used a LNF. As a collector I really like it. It is a bit of a weak tool though, it is only attached to the liners and the tool is very thin (especially at the tip).

This might be an interesing Climber.  Apparantly made for the Swiss BUPO before it was disbanded as a result of the secret files scandle. Given the date of the knife it may have been a 'good-bye' token if it's heritage is true. As always any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Don't have any info on the BUPO knife. Swiss police knives show up every once in while on ebay. A while back there was a retired FBI agent who was selling off a bunch of them he had picked up while doing liaison work with various Swiss police departments.

Don't have the Swiss Fireman Hunter, but do have this Short Tinker with the same logo.

Swiss Border Police have had a number of knives, including a blue alox Pioneer, and a translucent red Wenger Ranger, none of which I've managed to get my hot little hands on.
