When I asked you about this knife earlier, I almost bought it... I put it in my Amazon cart, but after thinking about it, I thought "I don't need another knife".  I then moved it to "save for later" and I almost deleted it yesterday.

Now, after looking at your pic, I want it again!  Damn, I have a problem.   :ahhh

DAY 13  Forgot to take a pic while hiking, so I just stabbed some firewood at home.  No other tools used.

Day 13

Yet another knife-only day.  Today Mr. Buck opened a package with another contestant for my Old vs New Micra scissors test.  This one is is dated 0999.

I also have a box from Leatherman (easily spotted in the pile due to the security tape).  Inside that box is the New Micra.... and some other toys, of course.

Do the Wiha and Wira arrive the same day? I bet they do a really nice pocketable screwdriver for the challenge...  :pok:

They didn't "speak to me" like that knife did.  And it was only 20 bucks too.

Gotta be careful, getting into knives is more expensive than getting into MTs don't ask how i know that  :ahhh

Day 14

It’s been so wet in Sydney this summer the house has started sprouting :ahhh
Used the flat head to dig it out, will have to do some inspection over the weekend as there’s definitely more

Day 14

We've been getting some weird weather down here, so I thought I'd pimp out another umbrella.
Great umbrellas but they have no way to be carried other than holding them.
The black and white one is the new one. I did the other one in an older challenge, and I used it like a guide, so I wouldn't have to measure anything.

I drilled a hole in the handle, and put a ring screw in there for one end of a strap.

Then I drilled the tip. I also bent a piece of wire into a ring.

The ring is held in by a dome-head screw. This allows the umbrella to slide into a sheath without catching on anything.
Now with a ring on each end, I can attach a bag strap on the umbrella, to carry it like a suitcase, or across my back.

Finally I drilled a hole at the bottom of the handle and cut a piece of paracord for a lanyard.
You can also see one end of the strap clipped on the ringscrew of the handle.

The lanyard ends are stapled together with a piece of wire (because a knot would not fit through the hole), and it is held in position by a woodscrew.

Small ones can stay in a pocket, others have hooked handles so at least you can hang them on something. These large umbrellas are a pain to carry. So I always add lanyards and carrying straps on them. :D

My Ebay purchase of Yowamushi Pedal arrived! Ladybug liberated it from box and plastic wrap.

This is 100% a guilty pleasure. It's so silly!

It's an English-subbed Malaysian DVD set of a Japanese animated series, but it seems to be an official release, so lucky me. Fleabay was kind this time.

Unless there's another shift in the weather, the studded winter tires might be a bit much. Either way, though, my MTB's rear brake needed more adjusting than the barrel adjusters could give it. The Pliers Wrench makes a great helper for pulling cables.

These v-brakes are so easy to maintain that it's easy to forget to do it.

Honestly, I should be replacing these cables and their housing anyway. They've seen more than a decade of dirty, wintery use.

Not pictured: I needed a 5mm hex key. I have gobs of those lying around.

Sam has posted about that knife, and I liked the handle so much I thought about getting one. And I now see they make a hawk bill one too!

I have to admit that my eye keeps going to the Ares ratchet whenever it appears in your posts. I am impressed that you used it to drill the holes for your mod.

Thanks Adam. That tiny Ares ratchet is a beast. And it has 72 teeth. I love the in-line driver slot too. And it is ridiculously inexpensive.
I will be posting reviews on all the tiny ratchets I've received these last few days.
