High Plains Drifter 7/10

Starring Clint Eastwood (1973 )

A gun-fighting stranger comes to the small settlement of Lago and is hired to bring the townsfolk together in an attempt to hold off three outlaws who are on their way.

Pretty good western on Netflix right now.

I've posted about this in this thread. These Eastwood westerns are classics. I'll watch it again soon. :D

Sea Fever 2019. Irish fishing vessel with an unfortunate voyage.  Good movie.  Why do Irish films always have such good musical support and actors?  End credits feature song 'Shallows' by Daughter.  Good stuff.  Best wishes.  G

Underrated horror movie. I loved it.

Illustrious Corpses 1976. Italian name Cadaveri Eccellenti.  English subs.  Dirty politics and corpses.  First five minutes has probably 200 corpses in a catacomb.  Real ones.  Not for the kids or squeamish.  Good movie, but not for everybody.  Best wishes.  G

The Beast with a Million Eyes 1955. Schlock horror movie.  Earth is threatened by a coffee urn propped up with tin cans.  No beast.  No million eyes.  I enjoyed part of it, but the ending was written in desperation to try and make some moral out of this weak flic.  Best wishes.  Gary

Incubus 1966. English subs.  Black and white.  I tried to figure out the language in the film.  Wasn't Italian, French, Spanish, or Portuguese.  I could understand a lot of the dialogue, but something was wonky.  I thought it might be Galician or something unusual.  Wrong.  A good movie if you want to hear William Shatner speaking Esperanto.   Feels a lot like an old Outer Limits TV episode.  Best wishes.  Gary

Frightmare 1983.  There is a British movie with the same name.  Don't know how it is.... yet.  This one isn't much.  Best wishes.  Gary

Frightmare 1974. The British movie by that name.  Certainly horror.  No relation to the US made movie.  Just the same title.  Might be the better of the two.  Best wishes.  Gary

“Secondhand Lions” good movie, totally a good laugh! I give you a quick breakdown, two brothers have an adventuring life and supposedly have a lot of money but live an absolute simple life, I mean in a house that doesn’t even have electric, yet a relative drops their kid off and tells them to find the money, yet the kid ends up teaching them a few things and vice versa, it’s real funny yet can be a tear jerker! Besides look who’s in it,,

Fury of the Wolfman 1972. Another in a series of Paul Naschy werewolf movies.  This man has more returns than a convenience store burrito.  There are English and Spanish versions.  A reasonably fun movie, but don't expect a high-class production.  Best wishes.  G

The wife and I watched a movie this afternoon, it was based on something that was real, on someone that ran a test on college students, my jaw was dropped through the whole freaking movie, I won’t even post the name!

Ok you asked,, I warned you, the thing is it’s based on a true story!
The Stanford Prison Experiment,
In 1971, twenty-four male students are selected to take on randomly assigned roles of prisoners and guards in a mock prison situated in the basement of the Stanford psychology building.

We saw Dune Part 2 this weekend. Not bad, if you don't know the book. The visuals were great and the acting was good (except for Christopher Walken; it felt like he was phoning his role in). Looks like there's going to be a Part 3, which is fine. I keep telling myself that no movie made from a book will satisfy everyone because everyone has their own mind pictures of what it should be :P

The Thing That Couldn't Die  1958. Good drive-in movie.  A car, some popcorn, a girl with a nice pink sweater, poodle skirt and saddle shoes.  Just the right movie for that.  Best wishes.  G
